How long before sponsors start jumping ship, and he loses the $100 million a year in sponsorship he gets now.... Do you think we'll see his smiling face freshly shaven holding up Gillette razors next year?

Can this guy reinvent himself.... of has he now become that cute caricature of a beaten man beside his wife, currently making the rounds?

Cheers!

He may just have to change sponsors.. Windshield Repair,... Trojan Condoms, Young Drivers of Canada, I'm sure many more will crop up.

He isn't going to lose anything. The sponsors are going to stay with Tiger. They know he is too much of an icon and he will still bring in the crowds.

He just has to lay low a bit and rebuild his image. Sports fans will always forgive and forget their athletes, especially over something like this. Once he starts winning again, all will be forgiven. In fact, when he does win it will be one of the greatest comeback moments in sports.

I would not be too concerned over Tiger's endorsement, if say Buick drops him, I am sure BMW would pick him up in a heartbeat. Afterall, as a sponsor, your logo will be prominently displayed on most Sunday afternoons.

If it was indeed reverse-domestic-abuse, I give a lot of credit to Tiger for taking it all on his shoulders and keeping Elin out of the spotlight. I think of him as a bigger man than before.

No, it won't be a comeback.. he hasn't gone anywhere or suffered any debilitating event. Mario Lemieux came back from cancer, other athletes came back from worse. It may be a muted affair at first, not too many will want to cheer him on and appear to approve of his infedility. A little humble pie at first, then the big welcome back.

Hmmm I don't know I was watching Larry King and they had that guy Donny Deutch (sp?) (some famous advertising guy) and he strongly believes Tiger will be bigger than ever because now "he is human" which the average Joe can relate too. Since Donny is in advertising I'm sure the media will spin it someway to make it a "comeback".

The other 2 guests disagreed with him though.

Apparently, all sponsering contracts have a "morals" clause which allows the sponser to terminate the contract for cause.

I think "Joe Public" is entirely sympathetic to Tiger's plight. How many of us have had flings, or have good buddies that have? It doesn't make us/them bad people.

The only people dumping on the guy are in the media. It's time they let it go so that he and his family can fix things as best they can, if that's what they want to do.

He's too valuable as an icon to advertisers for them to drop him.

I think most guys are envious of him and most women wish they had been the one he had the affair with.
And the marketers know that.
I'm not too worried about Tiger. I just hope he comes to an amicable agreement with Elin, mostly for the kids' sake.

Tiger apparently has a huge cock. His nickname in college was "tripod". Just one more reason for us to be envious of him other than all the strange ass he's been tapping.

It doesn't matter how hot your wife is. She's your wife, it gets dull.

Does it really matter if all of Tiger's sponsors walk?

Let's say Tiger does not win a single tournament and all his sponsors drop him. His net worth, even after the divorce settlement (if any) will be far beyond what he can spend in 10x lifetimes.

Who cares what happens.

They don't pay him to be a faithful husband/father. They pay him because he is the best golfer in history. As long as he continues to win, there will be no repercussions.
If he was accused of raping or sexually assaulting one of these girls (ala Kobe Bryant), that kind of negativity would have repercussions. While this won't make him more marketable (like Deutsch contends), if he lays low and is really contrite there will be no backlash IMHO. Plus if Nike or Gillette etc. drop him other sponsors will be lining up to sign him. I know Buick was not replaced in his portfolio, but he was probably at least approached by some other automaker when they dropped him.

Any sponsor that drops him will loose big time.

The name of the game here is winners.
No matter what he has done he is still the best golfer in the world. There must be thousands of companies wanting his name attached to there brand.

His biggest fans are golfers. :D
