When those who wish to see the end of the illegal drug trade place blame, they inevitably point fingers at the drug dealers, not the drug users. However, when those that wish to see the end of the illegal sex trade place blame, it inevitably falls on the shoulders of the hobbyists. It seems to be a blantant contradiction, does it not? If the suppliers are to blame for the drug trade, why are the suppliers in the sex trade not equally culpable?

Are you serious? The providers have been persecuted and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for centuries. But the laws apply to all parties now dont they? It's easy to hobby safe and legal in Canada.
Because of a lot of those "suppliers" in the sex trade are forced into the sex industry by pimps, human smugglers, etc. against their will.

Admitting you have a problem is half the battle. (in this case admitting you are the problem) I admire your courage.
Its both. The sex trade wouldn't be here if there wasn't a demand for it.. There are incidences that a kid or woman is forced into it. Is it they're fault they are in sex trade slaves? No.

I think because drug dealers tend to be a little more aggressive, we've all heard the same stories where a dealer gives out the "first one free" , then starts charging you.

Also I think that in a Christian founded society it is easier for governments to say shame on the men then to admit that minimum wage and social systems are still leaving women, men, and childeren in a position where they need to find alternative means of making money.
I agree both are to blame but in Canada the worker and the john are both subject to the law, however the law is pointed more at making gains off of a working person, human trafficing, and underage sale of women -which do tend to be more man based business, although not exclusively.

The simplest answer is that prostitution isn't illegal whereas the production or trafficking of illicit drugs (by the suppliers) is illegal.

I blame government. If it's legal most of the forementioed crap like pimps, human trafficing, and underage sale of women, etc. etc, etc would be reduced. The taxes collected would help the economy.

Agreed. Ladies should at least be able to get licences and pay taxes on the money they make without having to be creative about it. They would still be subject to laws that protect human rights. It's not as slippery a slope as they make it out to be . . . unless you count how wet I get.
