Another anti-prostitution piece written by a woman making all prostitution sound like the street trade. Do you think they will ever strike the right balance in these pieces and get an unbiased view?

Prostitution is the oldest profession.

“Who wants their sisters or wives or daughters to do this profession?” Det.-Sgt. Dominic Monchamp asks. “Who here thinks we should start a program at CEGEP?”

Prostitutes are nymphomaniacs.

In fact they have to dissociate themselves with what they’re doing to get through it.

They choose to do it.

According to a 2003 university study, 89 per cent would get out if they could.

Prostitutes act like they like it because they do.

“The client thinks she liked it,” Monchamp explains. “That it was special with him. But If it was so great, why does he have to pay?” Typically those who lay it on thick – with the best comments about a client’s looks or performance – are the ones with pimps, he adds. They are the ones who will suffer most if they haven’t made enough money at the end of the night.

Prostitution is a victimless crime.


In fact, prostitution is legal – but living off the avails of prostitutes – whether as a pimp or a strip club or massage parlour owner – is not legal, and there are victims, even if they don’t realize they are victims until they’ve gotten away."

Not my shame. I'm glad to see Canada is a leader in tolerant views and freedom of choice.

Now sex trafficking is another matter entirely, and I wish we would finally concentrate on that rather than some moralistic crusade.

The Montreal Gazette is dying a slow agonizing death, they need to print sensationalism in their articles to attract reader interest. The Gazette these days are as thin as freeby newspapers. BTW- The Mirror an english freeby newspaper died just a few months ago.
