If your original point was indeed "guns can be used without necessarily being fired" maybe you should have written it that way from the get go. Again, the gun has little if anything to do with authority or command and if you think it does, it just further emphasized why the gun control argument is so weak; the Antis don't even bother to inform themselves about the other side of the story and would rather regurgitate emotional yet illogical pleas and spew exaggerated, if not outright incorrect information.
One more for the road; authority and command are independent of the gun.
