Yeah that's the 2nd time Kawasaki has made an error in a clutch situation late in the game where the team went on to take the lead. Luckily this time King Edwin saved his scrawny ass.

Our middle infielders have terrible defence and offence right now. When Reyes gets back that only solves half to problem.

"Reminisces of the days when we had Roberto Alomar and Tony Fernandez."

Mediocre Morrow. Poor D up the middle. But we had a couple of breaks and EE.

Besides EE...most encouraging to see Bautista, Arencibia, and Rasmus....swing like hitters and get key hits instead of their mighty pop ups or strike outs....maybe the hitting coach finally woke up....most negative was pitchers failing to put up shut down innings after we took leads

I was at the stadium tonight, a fun game to watch with a lot of action all night long. It was nice to see the bats start popping. We don't need just homeruns, small ball is ok, as well.

The D was ok tonight with the exception of Kawasaki's error, which could have cost them the game. The double header started by Lawrie when he dug the ball up was huge, esp. with 2 men on and only 1 out. If he doesn't make that play its a different ballgame.

Crowd was in it all night, if more games are like that I would go more often.

I wasn't trying to be rude by the way and by no means am I an expert, but if you think the Jays are 9-17 because Gibbons your sadly mistaken
I wasnt being rude nor am I an expert either. But Gibbons just doesnt strike me as the type of manager who can motivate a team well. He just doesnt look very excited in the dugout most of the time, I rather see a fiery manager

The type that would pick a fight with one or two of his players?

This team needs a shakeup, time to fire Gibbons and the hitting coach Mottola. We have one hitter in our lineup hitting above .250 that is completely unacceptable.

Okay now I'm going to be a bit of an ass cause when people say stuff like that, it's some of the dumb stuff I've ever hear. So Gibbons is a bad manager because accord to you, he doesn't LOOK like he like he can motivate a team. How much time have you spent in team meetings and practices ? You see him on T.V in a dogout in a sport this is a LONG 162 games a year .... How the hell is he supposed to look ???

Reminds me of this:

Well look at the results, do the Jays look like a team who are playing up to their potential?? Do they look motivated for a comeback every time they're down by a few runs?! They almost never do, thats down to the manager IMO.

Take a look a at Mourinho, players are willing to take a bullet for him. He's almost like a father-figure to them. Thats the type of motivator I'm talking about

I would love up be able to tell what someone is thinking just by looking at them the way you guys seem to be able to do.

No, you can't tell everything... but if you are the observant kind, you'd be surprised at just how much you can tell from body language.

Ask any trial lawyer: all the good ones pay a great deal of attention to body language to understand what is happening between the ears! Often, more to body language than to the words being mouthed.

And let's face it: Yogi was right when he said "90% of this game is half mental."

And though the coaching staff in any sport cannot be held accountable for what their players actually do (they are not on the field or rink or court) they are accountable for what is happening inside their heads, for the mental approach, because that is the reason they are hired and exist!

Don't underestimate the influence of the coaches. Their function is to bring out the best and motivate the players they coach... many of whom, especially in baseball, are still immature one trick ponies.

What I find surprising about the Jays after nearly 30 games, is that, with the exception of Janssen and Cecil (of all people!), not a single player seems to be performing at or above their talent level***... all of them are under-performing.

So, if it not the coaching, then it must be management!!!???

*** Correction: Rajai Davis, too!

And a word about Rasmus... as an example of management ability and talent evaluation!

Maybe LaRussa was right after all...

This 5 tool star has had 691 at bats since becoming a Blue Jay... 169 hits (.244), 228 strike outs (.330), 4 stolen bases (3 caught stealing), 30 home runs, 59 bases on balls.

This is a star?
