I wanna order some stuff on Ebay, I get this retarded message from paypal:

You recently hit your PayPal sending limit and had your payment declined, but this is easy to fix
So apparently you cant just charge stuff on your credit card anymore, you have to give them your bank account information.

WTF, why cant they just accept my credit card??!!! :frusty:

I know dolls are cheaper in the long run, but SPs are more fun
LOL

PayPal has and option button or icon way down on the bottom of the page, where you may choose to your payment or purchase be from your bank account or credit card...
I am sure this option is still there..
Oh crap, now you tell me.

Thanks anyways

Are you sure that it's not a phishing email?
Positive.

But you're right, always double-check

I know of people who tried to sell things on Kijiji that received communications (even an FBI notice to not cancel the transaction) to force or intimidate them to give their account details or send cash (eg. I want to buy your car, but give me $1000 and I will add that to the price plus a percentage when I pick it up).

Nope, when I log in straight to their site I get the "you've reached your limit message".

Never give anyone your banking information.

Even Paypal going through the front door.

Never

A lot of regulation and compliance is playing into this. It's just not easy to send money around anymore. Which I wonder how these asian girls esp. from korea are sending their money back...how do you justify hundreds of thousands of dollars?

Exactly. Anyone who hooks the motherload to their paypal account...

I have no words for that, you deserve the anal pain coming your way when your PayPal password gets hacked.

You should be watching your credit card account for the next while, just in case you were scammed.

The same thing happened to me. I had to make a purchase via Paypal and got that message. After providing the info I made the transaction and it came out of my bank account directly, bypassing VISA. It's been about a week and so far so good(thank God).

You can remove your bank account from PayPal, just go in an delete it. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving it there..

The CC companies offer you outstanding fraud protection. So long as you notice and report bogus transactions quickly, they usually have your back. You don't have nearly the same level of protection with a bank account--once the funds are gone, good luck getting them back.
