This is sure to give many Liberals sleepless nights this week. Rob Ford won the debate, and Torontonians trust him the most to lead Toronto in 2014.

Can this town get any crazier??!! Don't be surprised if he wins the election :biggrin1:

A friend of mine (who lives in Mississauga) is convinced that Ford is going to be re-elected.

I'm not as convinced, but I don't rule it out.

Useless debate, CityTV should be embarrassed.
The moderating was crap, candidates were encouraged to shout at each other, and they got away with not answering questions or telling lies. Nothing new was said.

Ridiculous time slot for a debate as well.

If he is re-elected would he still be subject to the same strictures placed on him by council vote when his powers were removed to the Deputy Mayor? If so, and if Ford is re-elected, the citizenry would be electing a non-Mayor?

In that the election will boil down to one lefty candidate, Chow, and a bunch of righties, any thoughts which right wing candidates will drop out before the election? If Ford and Tory go all the way I suspect it will be Mayor Chow.

Nope, they would have to have another vote to take away his powers for Ford's 2nd term. But taxpayers aint gonna accept that because it would be seen as an assault on democracy

I'm not so convinced either. If he does win it'll be for 2 reasons:

1. Voters vote with their pocket book. They know ford will save them money, so they dont care about the drug use
2. They want revenge for the endless witch-hunt The Red Star did on him

I suspect this will influence some voters.

If cops do decide to charge Rob Ford, you can bet those charges will come right before election time

1. They vote with their gullibility. Taxes have gone up despite the slogans. 2.5% in 2012, 2.0% in 2013, 2.25% for 2014.

More than likely by the begining of summer. The last round of supenas are the final straw. Either they wil or won't charge him. If yes he is done. If not then he with really be able to hammer people on this. I'm pretty sure this is why no one went after him in the debate. If no charges are laid he may become the "victim" in an extortion scheme.

And the prison beating while not getting a lot of attention would appear to amount to nothing according the investigation so far.

Kimmel said it best on twitter.....
