Joe Paterno was a weak old man. He ignored his moral prerogative for the sake of his legacy. How could he live with himself?

It wasn't only in his private time but also at work. The evidence if you looked at it seemed to be conclusive he wasn't interested in knowing and thus looked the other way. I am sure if my co-workers looked at kiddie porn or dealt with sps at the office I would notice.

My understanding is the Paterno alerted his superiors and it was them who squashed it as best they could.

The reality is that with the good old boys network and politics that went on behind the scenes we will never know who was directly responsible for not acting sooner.

You get the feeling though that Joe P was just a minor cog in the grand scheme of things.
