From the ads I like Crave but not available on Rogers. They missed the boat on this one in my opinion.

Which one interests you?

If you are looking to binge watch a TV series there is watchseries.lt. I have used that to watch several seasons worth of many shows and it was free (up to my monthly bandwidth cap)

Cheers

Crave is OK. User interface sucks (no record of shows watched, not too intuitive). Selection is OK. I can't provide a comparison to Shomi though

I don't think there's a choice, Shomi is only available to Rogers customers, and Crave is owned by Bell and not available on Rogers. Crave is half the price, has a terrible interface as NHFL said. Crave does have HBO and Showtime shows, so I managed to finally see 'The Wire', and they've got 'Bosch', which was made for Amazon Prime, and they're constantly adding new stuff. I'm happy with it.

Both are just desperate attempts to stop the hemorrhaging of cash and customers to Netflix.
That was my feeling. When they start producing their own "House Of Cards" type content they'll get my attention. I realize NetFlix didn't do that out of the gate, but Craze/Shomi chose to compete against Netflix so that's what they're up against. $4 vs $8 is creative, though.

Exactly. I have Shomi for free until end of March and is terrible. The interface was designed by a programmer stuck in the '70's. Content is not that great, I definitely prefer Netflix

If you really want free tv go watch Hulu
Can't fathom why anyone would pay for Netflix

(Oh and BTW the US Netflix has more than double what Canadian Netflix has)

I just got Bell Fibe hooked up yesterday and my package includes Crave. Had a quick look through it last night and was impressed with the shows offered. Especially all the HBO stuff that isn't on Netflix (which I also have, the US version).

Exactly.

Hasn't everybody heard of XBMC? Another alternative to the Big Boys.
Or XBMC (but your comment is spot one).
I have!!!! LOL

All you guys need is Kodi. http://kodi.tv/ Which is also known as XBMC as GPIDeal mentioned above.

It is free. It has streaming and downloading options, and has every show and movie I was able to search. I watched the first episode ever of Star Trek yesterday. For the ladies, I watched the first episode of Days of our Lives the other day and 50 shades cam version a week ago. The range of available shows and movies is limitless as far as I can tell.

I would recommend the add-ons of Genesis, icefilms and phoenix. You need to install Fusion as well. There are many tutorials. Available on PC/Mac systems, and tablets that allow third party apps. Total set up time took me an hour-ish.

Hope this helps and happy watching!

You should also be aware that many of these streams are illegal/pirate streams. Unless you are protecting/encrypting your traffic, your ISP and others are aware of your activities.

You can get THE one from Computers Canada or something like that (I got mine as a gift but there are knock-offs too).

I know people that have these installed. I should ask them about this, or the computer store where they buy it from.

Way too many boxes are available
That's like asking online which chinese usb drive works best
99.9% of responders will have no clue since they have very limited hardware exposure
