On Veteran's day, a black man with his seeing eye dog was enjoying his free meal at Chili's because he was a Vet.

A Trump supporter told him that he was lying, and that blacks were not allowed to serve at the time.

The manager got involved, and even though the man showed ID, the manager took away this man's food.

The man served his country and risked his life. Show some respect.

The manager is a pathetic piece of shit who wanted to flex his muscles. What a complete lack of judgement.

Here's the story:

Well , technically Obama is still president so it's Obama's fault. Trump takes over Jan.20.2017. Let's hope Trump heals the wounds of Obama's racist, divisive policies.

What an idiot manager! I'd think that the waitress asked for military ID when she entered the order. This is certainly the case at restaurants that have senior discounts, and free birthday dinners.

And what an idiotic Trump supporter who had to question this vet's credentials. There are other wars besides WWII.

A. You don't have the full story. You have a hack job of an article
B. Who do you support? Is it tattooed on your forehead or do you go around yelling "JUSTIN FOR LIFE!!!!!". I can say I support X ,murder 10 people and it's X's fault? Just faulty and simple logic
C. Stop and breath. Media lies.

I'm still boggled by the fact that a manager has to be called for something like this since the man already has the food in his hands. Too bad if the other customers don't like it because it's not their business. Besides, they don't have any proof that he wasn't in the military. Even if the part about the other customers or the Trump supporter are false, it's never a good idea to say "calm down" to a customer. Regardless if there was any racism or not, it was a really bad idea for the manager to take the food from the man. I don't think anyone would stand for that treatment in a restaurant. Maybe the manager was right, but now he's out of a job.

I know you're butt hurt about Justin winning, but you'll get your chance to kick him out in the next election. Naturally, it's a rigged election so you'll just go back to being butt hurt and angry at the world. Not as if Justin has anything to do with this. Stop and breath because there isn't some grand conspiracy against conservatives.

It isn't what I would have done but the Veteran's clothing which he had purchased after leaving the Army was a bit non-regulation so perhaps some slack for the other customer.

More important was that he showed the proper documentation and the idiot manager still publicly embarrassed him.

Agree with the above.

At the very least, it was extremely poor judgement.

1)the man was recording him. He should have known it could have gone on Youtube, or to the police, or Chili's.

2)it is extremely rude and inhumane as a person to just grab someone's food from them, especially a vet. What kind of person does that?

3)there was no benefit from taking the food. It was just going to end up in the trash.

It's something I never, ever would have considered doing, let alone actually done. Imagine yourself in this exact same situation? What would you have done as the manager?

Me:

I would have thanked the Trump supporter for their concern. I would then ask the waitress if they checked ID. If yes, then no further action. If no, 50/50 I would ask the man to show ID.

When he showed ID, my next reaction would be:

"Oh, okay. Thank you, sir. I'm sorry, it's not that I didn't believe you, but we have to make sure that we get proper ID, and it seems no one checked. Can we get you anything else?"

The manager was on a power trip.

How many civilians know what a non-regulation uniform looks like? I couldn't ID one unless it was a very obvious Halloween costume.

At the end of the day: the customer is always right. Customers can be assholes, but they are still right. So no sense in arguing and confronting them especially when they are recording.

I only have two things to say.

First, you can't trust the media to give a full accounting of a story, especially when it surrounds race.
Second, boycotting Chili's as a result of a single employee's idiotic actions is a ridiculous idea of justice.

It will work as well as the "boycott" on Chick a fil when they refused to bow down to homosexuals. Their sales actually have been going up. People underestimate how tired the average joe is about this bullshit. This story will be forgotten by the end of the week and another will replace it,

Total sack of shit move by the manager, all about his ego when this was open for everyone to see - like you said, flexing his muscles.

2:00 in this video the Vet talks about it and feels that it is because of the whole environment in the U.S. right now.
