however, i'd argue almost any popular venue in Toronto has beautiful women in it.... toronto has beautiful women period

why would you pay a membership fee to go to a lounge? country club i can understand, but a bar lounge?? haha...

i guess if you consider the "chase" getting swindled by gold diggers, knock yourself out

Who said finding romance or free sex was ever easy. Might not be the best place to look, but the feel of prestige, great music and beautiful women around you is perhaps appealing to some.

Buy hey, if you're anti-social, than you don't need all that drama...knock yourself out with an SP or MPA.

hey i never said that

im not anti social. I've been to a few of those venues actually and it's not like they have a monopoly on toronto's women. if anything there's less people, less women, and more gold diggers/obvious escorts

I'm saying there's beautiful women in toronto just about anywhere.. "regular" less expensive places like cabana, rebel, cube, etc. HELL, i've even seen hotter women working at Jack Astor's than I did at the thompson hotel. Lol

You have greater odds of "finding romance" with a regular gal on a night out in TO than you would at one of these places. Unless you have the wallet to support their fake tits, fake lips, fake eyelashes, spray tans, etc. but then... why aren't YOU just going to the MPA? haha

I hears ya! I have beautiful women walking all over the front of my house, but once in a while, I like to live it up and party with the celebs.

Thanks for posting that list! Small thing but it's the Spoke Club. Not Spokes. Was a member for about five years but it kinda got boring. I liked it best as a non-public place to have business meetings and to host a few parties with 40-50 people. But I did also meet a lot of good looking women over the years. But as a member, you have to behave yourself (ie: not be a serial dater) or your overall reputation will suffer.

The Thompson is not a good place to meet new women. For the most part, the women that go there play the game and are unabashed gold diggers. However, it is a great place to take a date after dinner on a nice summer evening.

I would also add the Spokes Club is no where near the oldest club in the city. Not even close.

That honour belongs to a place I have visited called the Toronto Club. At over 175 years old it is I believe the 2 oldest in North America.

Have wonder about the accuracy of the rest of the article if the basic facts weren't checked.

Places like Toronto Club, The Granite Club, Boulevard Club are where "old money" have memberships.

These new places look like they are mainly for people who pretend to have money.

I'm in neither camp. As in neither have money nor pretend I do. Lol!

I’ve never been to the Spoke Club, but I can see some of the benefits memberships have to offer (i.e. fashion shows, live music, art exhibitions, prominent speakers, out of town events such as Juno Awards, BWTF, F1 Grand Prix in Montreal and etc.). This is definitely the sort of club you need to behave as word gets around quick in these types of circles.

With the lounge scene, it really does depend on the theme on a particular night and who’s hosting the event. I’ve been to a few parties where I was surrounded by fashion models. Some nights I’ve rub shoulders with some big name celebs. Sometimes it’s just a nice place to network and socialize, or dance with some gold diggers with a bottle of champagne. In any case, it really is an upscale version to your typical dance/night club…
