Still think this was wrongly decided and that we will see much judicial tap dancing during a future Presidency regarding how of course it wasn't held that the President can't limit entry to the United States by foreigners.
Counsel, of course a president can ban categories of foreigners; he just can't do it in a way which is clearly a sop to his bigoted campaign fans who hate Muslims. If Trump hadn't said over and over again to stadiums of cheering, brain-dead yokels throughout his campaign that he was going to ban Muslims, he might have been able to sell the ban as a legit security measure.

It's just impossible to do that in the face of an outrageous tidal wave of bigoted statements from Trump and his buddies and with a piece of ineptly drafted legislation, clearly thrown together with no policy research or real data the week after his election by a fuck-up like Bannon.

If there was a shred of genuine-ness re the legislation, the judges would have bought into it and given Trump a hall pass.

This constitutes absolutely no precedent re appropriate executive orders on immigration issues - including bans - by any president in the future. Although I would strongly advise President Trump not to try any more bans during his tenure as Potus.

He seems to be working out his anger issues here on TERB. I hope he gets better soon.
I'm not the one who comes here and posts negative threads daily or responds negatively everyday like you lefties do. Sorry, I responded to him in kind. You won't win the insult game with me so if you want to open up that can of worms, so be it. I noticed your passive aggressive 'Soup' comment but I am going to look past it as you are just being Oagre's little bitch right now.

It was more important to get elected than to make policy that makes Americans safer.

Trump's travel ban would not have changed the outcome regrettably. The perpetrator was born in the UK. That demonstrates the fallacy of the proposed ban. The real danger is not in immigrants who hare very heavily vetted notwithstanding Trumps assertions to the contrary. It is the radicalization of nationals. Hence most, but not all, in the intelligence and security communities are not supporting the ban. Other than Trump appointees who are toeing the party line.
This is my REAL issue with Trump and his chums. It's the sheer fucking incompetence of the buffoon that wrecks it for him - and everyone else.

If - instead of the assinine PoS legislation he attempted to enact - he actually researched immigration measures that would work in reducing the risk of terror and worked with the security services on the plan and actually took a few months drafting something useful and well though out, I would have had no issue with it. What he did was throw out a piece of crap simply to make himself look like a hero in front of his ill-informed, Muslim-hating electors. And he and Bannon did it in such a way as to cause the maximum stress and chaos and fear in ordinary travellers.

The day the first Muslim Ban was enacted, I had to message an escort friend of mine who has dual citizenship with one of the banned states and try and work out emergency strategies if she was refused landing in the US for a little vacation she was taking with her Canadian friends. This girl knows nada about politics, is a non practicing Muslim and had no idea why the US government would even think of banning someone like her. The sheer fucking unfairness of treating ordinary people like shit for no real reason makes me absolutely livid with anger.

I believe or I could be wrong, but, if Trumps travel ban had been implemented, this terrorist once he tried to get back into the UK from Libya where he just came back from visiting would have been properly vetted as Libya is on the list of the 6 banned countires.

This UK Terrorist literally just got back from a visit from Libya.

Trump and regrettably most of the GOP are into very simplistic answers to complex problems. It sounds great to say building a wall will solve problems or banning Muslims etc. The world is a complex and dynamic place place requiring thoughtful policies. The GOP has no interest in this. They are more interested in slogans and quick so-called fixes to problems they consider static. The Dems have generally proposed measures which are by no means perfect but which have an element of thought and intellectual ardor to them. The GOP of course seizes on the imperfections as a reason to repeal rather than attempting to fix. That is what the US has come to. In the words of the great one. SAD.

He was a UK citizen, born in the UK, so you're wrong. Trump's travel ban would have been ineffective had the UK adopted it.

SOUP you have to stop sublimating. You are not going to change the world here on TERB. I strongly suggest you visit some of the forums where for a price willing participants will help you out with your pent up frustrations. Live a little, life's to short to take any of this so seriously.

I suggest you read the sticky at the top in this forum on insults and name calling. You might benefit from reading through it.

Maybe if you relaxed and didn't get so bent out of shape when anyone has an opinion different than yours, you wouldn't have felt the need to call me SOUP in an attempt to try and passively aggressively bait me into responding to you and then the nerve to try and make it look like I have a problem because I'm calling you out on it? Sorry, it doesn't work that way Cye

SOUP. Watch Meatballs and in the words of Bill Murray "it just doesn't matter " none of our opinions matter.

Ozymandias By Percy Bysshe Shelley
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Unfortunately Washington and Ottawa seem to be short on those with the ability to draft legislation which will actually accomplish this.

Trump and regrettably most of the GOP are into very simplistic answers to complex problems.
However Democrats are no better. Doing nothing to get control of illegal entry to the United States as well as overstays of those who were admitted legally, is not a answer to this problem and that is what happened for the past eight years.

Perhaps that's due to the insoluble difficulty of the problem?

And your own solution?

That a boy SOUP your indomitable spirit shall win out.

P.S. lol.ing yourself is lame, almost as bad as talking about yourself in the third person.
I wasn't lol'ing myself, (although I do find myself funny, quite often) it was put there to help you understand it was said with humour & not insult. Guess that went right over your head..

Perhaps Oagre. However, I'm tired and it has been another not so great day. Further, most of my solutions are currently illegal.

Such as if you show active disloyalty by showing allegiance to or plotting terrorist acts in the name of, entities such as Daesh or Al Quida perhaps you should be deported to South Georgia, the Îles Kerguelen or some such place.

The only solution is to make it a felony to knowingly employ an illegal immigrant. That will resolve the problem overnight.

Trouble is that the GOP voting base like hiring under the table gardiners, nannies, and cleaning maids for peanuts, and major donors like hiring under the table agricultural workers. Trump himself is a major employer of illegal labor. It's profitable.

So it's all talk about a pointless wall and cracking down on illegals but NO ONE is talking about solving the actual problem.

Put an illegal employer like Trump in jail for a few years and I guarantee you the illegal immigrants will ask device to go home on their own for lack of work.
