The sad reality is we get more sensitive to detecting crazy as we get older. You look back to the people you dated in college and in retrospect it's looks pretty clear some were at least on the bipolar or BPD spectrum, but at the time they just seemed unstable or chaotic, usually with a strong whiff of kinky, so you kind of just put up with it until the relationship fell apart. Eventually you begin to learn to suss out certain behaviors that aren't normal and you just don't put up with them. Makes things a little harder.
I ran (figuratively speaking) into a psycho woman the other day. She, her backpack and her kid were blocking the sidewalk watching a fire. No reason for a 44 year old man to limit himself to middle aged women. He can easily attract women in their late 20s if he's got something going for him--looks, a good job, doing something cool. Met a older hobbyist in Mississauga at a Trinity club, possibly in his mid 50's, he stated had no problems picking up or having encounters with ladies in their 20's, explained a good attitude with respect always major point, that age has no barriers.
