If Greta doesn't grow up to be a nice-looking woman, CNN will eventually fire her and she'll have to go back to her climate change scam.

Does that mean you think she's an expert?

It seems like an awfully low standard for the progressives who were fretting a few weeks ago about "misinformation" when Michael Moore's documentary on the renewable energy scam was released. :)
I don't think any sensible person was fretting over Micheal Moore. In fact it was the anti-science crowd who after decades of calling Moore a pinko commie libtard propagandist who had no idea what he was talking about, that they liked one thing he said and tried to promote him as an expert.

Moore isn't an expert. Greta isn't an expert (though she's young so she may choose to immerse herself in science). You and your ilk are the ones using the 'expert' moniker based on opinions even though you quite clearly have trouble with the meaning of the word.

The common theme is that people like to view their own truth based on their own biases. The troubling side is people on your side of the political spectrum commonly reject science when it doesn't fit your bias. Yes, this happens with other political views but it has becoming a defining characteristic of the right.

There is more attention to be had talking about the science of covid 19 than there is to be had talking about the science of climate change.
Additionally, it will be a much easier premise for Governments and special interest groups to separate people from their money.
For an autistic girl, Greta is surprisingly adaptable.

:spit:

Would you stop quoting him FFS.
Every time you do I have to read his retarded posts  :biggrin1:
Poor phil.
It must suck to be so often embarrassed here that you have to run and hide and pretend you've put me on ignore.
And for the record, I'm fine with ridiculing your posts without having to waste time with your rebuttals.
Everyone can see the responses just fine if they want.

Now, for today's lesson did you finally understand the difference between a spokesperson and an expert?

I'm not surprised that her message goes right over your head, you only have to shoot at grade 6 level to accomplish that.
Greta says listen to the scientists, that they are the experts.
Not the gut of some makeup wearing clown.

Of course, compared to your understanding of the science, its understandable why you think she's an expert and not just a spokesperson for a generation.
Which scientists is Greta referring to? The ones that said that the corona virus was nothing to worry about but then it was a pandemic and we should all be afraid or that said to not wear masks then said to wear masks etc. But Greta is a self-diagnosed covid-19 survivor so she must know what she is talking about.

She both diagnosed and healed herself without any help from the medical professional which should at least make her the equal of a doctor, and therefore qualified to give advice.

Is that what the magical "fascists" are calling Trump now?

What is your drug of choice?
Sounds like it must be something halucinogenic.

And why not? They had Clapper lying for them for three years and even hired McCabe AFTER he was fired for lying.

There will surely be a job for Trump after 2020

Greta did tweet that she had covid but she had recovered. She also said she never got tested which implies she never saw a doctor. She must have cured herself.

Putting aside your careless characterization of the people who believe in sound energy policies as being somehow "anti-science," I agree with much of what you have written here -- until you get to the part about people trying to promote Moore as "an expert."

Although I disagree with most of what "pinko" Moore has said over the years, I'm one of the guys who has encouraged people to watch "Planet of the Humans."

In no way does that mean I think Moore is an "expert."

What it does mean is that despite Moore's bedwetting about the future of the planet, his overall point about the renewable energy scam is sound (allowing for the mischievous 'gotcha' moments that are common to Moore's films).

As has been noted before, even alarmists like global-warming godfather James Hansen (the former head of GISS at NASA) say the dream of a society powered entirely by wind and solar is a total fairy-tale.

If you really want to reduce man-made emissions in any meaningful way, the only technology available today that makes that even remotely possible is nuclear power.

I wonder ... did anyone on the CNN panel ask St. Greta how many thousands more would have died if the world didn't have access to a modern health-care system powered by fossil fuels?

If we have learned anything from this latest pandemic, it's that the Victorian age wasn't quite as idyllic as young Greta of Green Fables (thank you, Rex Murphy) would have us believe.

Or it was just a minor case as it is for 90% of the people who get it.

So you're pushing a film from a source you don't think is trustworthy because it suits your own agenda.
That qualifies as backing propaganda.

Straw man argument.
Nobody is arguing for the return of the Victorian era.

Solar and wind power doesn't mean you have to use a horse and carriage.
