Dr. King, Gandhi....These are great people who knew how to effect change.

Not the thugs who are looting and rioting. They are just using mob mentality to capitalise on political unrest.

To those who are apathetic towards the destruction of property. I wonder what your feelings would be if it was your house or business being burned to the ground because after all it's replaceable right?
As cable news networks carried images of fires and destructive protests in Minneapolis, the president tweeted at 12:53 a.m. ET: "these THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won't let that happen.
Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way.
Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!"

Video of man in black smashing windows. People try to confront him. Pretty weird. Almost wonder if he is some sort of provacateur.

As for the looting yeah thats bad and you can finger wag at it. But it doesnt diminish the priblem with police brutality.

The looters represent SOME opportunistic people and that shouldnt take away from legitimate concerns of others.

2 baseball, 1 hockey, 1 american football and 1 basketball, and you talk about the oldest one in that list...the basketball?

lol

And it's my head that's in my ass? Coming from your transparent self that's a compliment.
You carry a lot of baggage.

I was not picking on the NBA.
It was just one example and shorter than typing sports championship again.
NBA, NHL, MLB, G20, Soccer, or whatever is all the same shit for lowlife assholes to exploit.

They do the same shit for G20 or sports championship celebrations.

Could also be interpreted that Trump meant citizens start shooting looters while they are protecting their businesses.

Remember the armed Koreans on roof top during L.A. riots??

Sadly low pay, limited qualifications needed in many jurisdictions, and the attraction to power will lead to some cops like that.
I'm not sure when you factor in pension and benefits the pay is low. Big cities do really try to hire people with a certain temperament and attitude. I will give you the attraction to power.

The big problem is the police force is like a fraternity with an esprit de corps. It's possible the other cops at the scene were not hyper-aggressive officers, but knew not to challenge another cop's actions.

These type of hyper-aggressive cops can have a strong family or friend connection that pulls them into the force. Once they're in the Union it can be hard to discipline. The Union has some political muscle within Democratic cities and with elected prosecutors.

This is part of the problem and has to change. Cops are suppose to protect the public and this should include from other bad cops.

Until police start speaking, until white america starts speaking up, until you have a president who does not incite violence, nothing is going to change.

Koreans are hard working, and with rare or no exceptions, law abiding peaceful citizens. If memory serves me right, I think the Koreans warned any potential looters that they (Koreans) will defend their properties and livelihood. You rarely or never hear of any Koreans interacting negatively with LE.

Disclosure: I am not Korean.

One thing in Australia that brought down corruption/assault rates by the coppers was requiring either a 3-4 year uni degree or 2 years military service. Some argued that it was the education that caused the decline, others argued that simply being older after 2, 3, or 4 years helps the blokes manage their emotions.

There were 3 race related riots in the US during the 8 years Obama was POTUS.

1. Ferguson riots: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Ferguson_unrest
2. Baltimore: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Baltimore_riots
3. Milwaukee: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Milwaukee_riots

Its unfair to blame Trump over this. The only person to blame is the idiot cop who started all this

Eeks I'm agreeing w Phil here.

Trump's reaction to this can be held for or against him, just as Obama's reactions were held for or against him.

Also Trump ordered an FBI inquiry into Floyd's death right away. He was as disgusted at this murder as the rest of us

Not likely. It is referencing Walter Headley from back in the 60s, who was specifically talking about ordering his police to shoot people.

In any event, this could have been a personal vendetta not just a police thug killing a black suspect.
