You keep proving that you can not understand what you posted in the article, it's a lack of comprehension skills.
That's why your ignorance persists on you listening to nitwits like Mark Dice who is as big a mouthpiece as they come and you believe and quote his anecdotal evidence over scientific data.

BTW can you answer this question. I've always wondered how many times did the dump truck run over and reverse on Mark Dice's face? He looks and sounds like he's been run over multiple times by a dump truck.

Yes, but a virus can be spread through aerosols AND water vapor as well. Think of the visible water vapor that you breath out when its really cold.
So you dont need to be sneezing or coughing out droplets, the water vapor in your breath is more than enough to spread this virus.

In that work, researchers led by Yuan Liu at Wuhan University found the novel coronavirus can be resuspended in the air when health care workers remove their PPE, clean the floors, and move through infected areas. Taken together, “The presence of viral RNA in air droplets and aerosols indicates the possibility of viral transmissions via these routes,” the NAS panel concludes.

“[I’m] relieved to see aerosolization is accepted,” Kimberly Prather, an aerosol chemist at the University of California, San Diego, wrote in an email to ScienceInsider. “This added airborne pathway helps explain why it is spreading so fast.”


It also adds to the case for masks. The NAS panel cited work reported in a paper by Nancy Leung of the University of Hong Kong and colleagues. They collected respiratory droplets and aerosols from patients with respiratory illnesses caused by viruses; some of the patients wore surgical facemasks. The masks reduced the detection of coronavirus RNA in both respiratory droplets and aerosols, but only in respiratory droplets among influenza sufferers. “Our results provide mechanistic evidence that surgical facemasks could prevent transmission of human coronavirus and influenza virus infections if worn by symptomatic individuals,” the researchers conclude.

This last statement dispels the airborne virus theory. Virus particles, extremely small entities that cannot be seen under an optical microscope, are not easily or not at all transmitted through the air.

Not all experts agree that aerosols are a likely route of transmission. A 27 March scientific brief from the World Health Organization (WHO) states that aerosol transmission “may be possible in specific circumstances and settings that generate aerosols,” such as when severely ill patients are intubated with a breathing tube. However, the WHO experts say, an analysis of more than 75,000 coronavirus cases in China revealed no cases of airborne transmission. As for studies such as Santarpia’s, they note that “the detection of RNA in environmental samples based on PCR-based assays is not indicative of viable virus that could be transmissible.”

In the city where I live there is a by-law which requires the wearing of a mask when entering businesses and apartment buildings. condos etc.

Since this was mandated by elected officials in a democratic system I comply with these rules.

If I was given the choice whether to do so or not I probably would under most circumstances only because for the little bit of effort it takes why take a risk.

Even if it's minuscule. Another reason would be to respect the wishes of those who may be more concerned than I am. Just to allay their fears.

Nobody ever said masks are 100% effective in making one safe. The point is they reduce risk & increase one's safety, just as a condom with minimal defects or a tiny hole may do. That's why your OP title & video are wrong.

But a small hole in a condom might bring a child to the world. On the other hand the mask can lower the viral load of the virus. Meaning you many still get infected but to such a small amount that the virus has trouble replicating itself. You may then never know you got infected in the first place.

They still died of the virus. Let me try to make a simple example. You and I are walking through the African savanna - actually I am walking - you have no legs so you are dragging yourself. A hungry lion appears and we attempt to make it 50 yards to the safety of the Jeep. I run easily to the Jeep but you have no legs (a pre-existing condition) and die. So what killed you - the lion or the pre-existing condition ???

In your logic - the pre-existing condition killed you.

In your world - you would open the gate and let the lion's run free because anyone with a pre-existing condition really isn't worth the effort of saving. I had a friend who died from COVID. Yes she was a diabetic but she was a wonderful person. Now I listen to arguments that basically say .' I'm not wearing a mask because I'm not going to die - just old farts, fat people and diabetics.

I specifically stated in OP that only N95 masks will make a difference, not the flimsy masks most people are currently wearing because.......wait for it.......the article you just quoted clearly says there's evidence exhaled breath contains the coronavirus, not just droplets from coughs or sneezes. That was the whole point of the video.

It's the aerosols that are present in the exhaled air that carry the virus. Don't be an ignoramous. Water vapour DOES NOT carry the virus, according to science. There is a diference between aerosols and vapours. And, there are enough chemists, scientists and engineers on this board that will tell you the same thing that I am telling you.

Masks act as barriers against airborne aerosols. Plain and simple physics. Now, do you understand?

If human breath can contain the virus then those flimsy masks everyone is wearing cannot stop the spread of the virus (assuming the article is correct about Covid being airborne).

Masks work. Just look at the Asian countries where almost everyone wears a mask. They are densely populated countries with al lot less cases per capita. The Asian countries kick our asses when it comes to dealing with COVID. It's m/not even close.
