Okay, but factor in that those Indian-Americans are first or second generation immigrants who self-select and self-qualify to come to the US. So you get far smarter, far more motivated examples than the majority of the population in their home country.
That's why immigrant populations will always score more highly on several indicators than the population in their chosen country of arrival or their original home country.
Are you saying that poor people in America are poor because they're lazy (i.e. "less motivated")?
I'm saying that very successful immigrants immigrate and succeed because they are motivated, smart and have the support to - probably - do well academically.
Poor people are deficient in one or the other of the above qualities.
Take an Indian woman who comes from a wealthy family where it is expected that every member will attend post-graduate or professional school. Her sights are already aligned on that goal and she probably has the innate genetic intelligence to succeed academically. Add in that the family can financially support her and has the contacts to assist her career and she is likely to do well.
A white dude who lives in a trailer park in OK and whose family is 5th generation welfare does not expect to get into college, let alone Harvard Med. He's happy if he has a steady job or learns a trade. And if he can't hold a job, then his family likely just shrugs it off and shares his welfare cheque.
I could say the same thing about inner city Blacks or Hispanics. That make you happier?

Early life

TLDR;
In addition, a study back in February 2019 by University of Neveda and involved Oxford, University of Lisbon and Tel Aviv University. They had asked a number of questions about prejudice, including race, —aversion to out groups as a neighbors— world-wide. This included over 450,000 individuals, 300 surveys, and 100 nations for this analysis. So, pretty thorough.
- Anglo and Latin countries most tolerant.
- India (surprise, 1949) and Jordan (surprise, PLO) by far the least tolerant.
- Wide, interesting variation across Europe.
- The Middle East not so tolerant.
- Racial tolerance low in diverse Asian countries.
- South Korea, not very tolerant, is an outlier.
- Pakistan (surprise, getting the short end of 1949) , remarkably tolerant, also an outlier.
Results?
For ALL the results, Canada was among the lowest for prejudice against; different religion in general, Islam, Hindus, Jews, different races, and immigrants. Interestingly enough, it appears the country with the lowest prejudice most commonly I think was Trinidad & Tobago.
There was also a CLEAR link between higher GDP and lower prejudice. Therefore, if you want less racism or prejudice, choose capitalism because your GDP will be higher.
