One of the reasons the campaign in Ukraine turned into a quagmire, for both sides, is the inability to use air power by either side. The air defenses are keeping air assets well behind the front lines. Even if Ukraine gets the modern fighters, they'll have little impact on the situation on the ground. Cutting off the supply of the anti air systems would finish the war for Russia without a doubt.
There's a good argument here that Zelensky and Ukraine know that this is the time to strike, as soon as mud season is done.
They know they can't count on western weapons forever as well as know that they need to make some big strikes against Putin lest it turn into another Donbas stalemate.

Likely we'll find out in the next month or so.

According to Russia, they've destroyed more HIMARS than have ever been produced.

Must suck for Putin. He made us some shit about NATO aggression and ended up with a NATO state on their longest border.
In fairness Putin knows that NATO would never attack his piece of shit country full of piece of shit people. So it’s not like it’s an actual concern. But it does look a little awkward

Strike what? Russia can sustain casualties and Ukraine cannot. The war has devolved into trench and urban nightmares and small unit clashes. The modern mobile warfare is impossible for Ukrainians due to shortage of the infantry support weapons and the Russian decisive advantage in artillery. And Russians are not able to break out because of the Ukrainian massive use of the modern antitank missiles and indiscriminate mining of all approaches.

Ukraine has a new wave of western weapons that they've been training on just coming in.
Russia is running low on artillery and ammunition.

Yeah like 18 tanks that Germany is giving them? They need 1000s. Its still not good enough. Russia could field 500 outdated T-54s against 18 Leopard 2's and the 18 would still lose.

You're going to need a ton of new Hindustan Times videos.
There will be many more authentic news videos from HT am sure.

And you are going to need tons of random twitter videos to keep your dream of Ukraine beating Russia in this war alive.

Not sure if the 735 number is correct but even so Russia has 10,000 T-72s alone. They can afford to lose more and still beat them with numbers. And in these types of urban wars, in this type of terrain god knows how useful these tanks are. There is a reason why the Russians make lighter tanks. Not sure how the 70 ton Abrams, Challenger etc will fair in this terrain. Again time will tell.

10,000?

Why didn't you go for a million?
Then Russia would really win.

Russian tanks are smaller and they store the shells in the main compartment with the soldiers.
Which is why the turrets fly so high when they blow and why nobody survives them.

So do the leopards. And look up T72 numbers.

A tank is simply an infantry support vehicle that's worth fuck all by itself in the modern missile environment. You need lots of them to advance because they're extremely vulnerable. And you need lots of infantry to suppress the antitank teams. Above all, you don't need the best and the most expensive, you need a lot of good enough to provide the direct fire support for the advancing infantry. Russian tanks are very good at killing their own crews, but are also light enough to be dragged away for repairs and are designed to be easily fixable as long as the shell is not blown open. And tank versus tank? Why would you risk an expensive asset in the uncertain outcome when at fraction of the cost a grunt with a missile can achieve the same result? We have seen that EVERYWHERE in Ukraine in the last year- tanks are being taken out by missile teams, precision arty strikes and mines. The one thing that will help Ukrainians in the western tanks is the superior fire control that can reach and hit farther than Russians can. That will be helpful in suppressing the antitank teams, but will still leave them extremely vulnerable to the Russian counter battery fire.

People still think in WW2 terms. Also, how much will the ability to hit farther really matter in street by street urban warfare fighting?

Very true about the WWII, after a whole year of fighting you'd think the internet experts would have noticed. You're not suppose to bring tanks into urban environments unless you're advancing on a broad front with infantry and the infantry fighting vehicles well in front.
