Now just have to get the peons to say enough. Don’t deliver food, don’t pick up the trash, don’t send police or fire. Etc and so on. And put signs up facing the walls. Trespassers will be levied heafty fines or shot. :)

San Fran has serious problems. Not sure how this might address any of them.

Like you, I used to spend time in the US periodically. I have zero, none, nada desire to go there again.

That’s not to say, there aren’t “enviable” aspects, or “good” areas or people. They are becoming the exception, not the norm. Nor does it look like that will reverse direction, or even change anytime soon.

Where I might differ from some, is where the “blame” lies. Though I think the better word would be causes. Nor does there seem to be much interest in identifying them.

Taking a few years off. Need a break and have a few bucket list places to take care of.

Add in I think social unrest is a very real possibility at some point and it's a good time to travel elsewhere.

Its more about the occasional incoherent fanboy stalkers who' only real purpose and meaning I just can't fathom. But I remain amused how emotionally invested they are in me.

I think gated cities will be in the US future as the masses become poorer and undesirable. The wealthy, instead of dealing with them will hire police to round them up and deport them and lock the gates. I give it about 25 years

Probably to protect themselves from the backlash they'll receive in the not to distant future from the smart cities they'll be a big part of and also the realization by the masses of the insane wealth they've aquired, people are starting to wake up, not all people, but most.

One of my bucket list, for years was a week on horseback up into the mountains around Colorado, Wyoming. Not entirely stricken off, but at bottom now. Other places, other things including a swim in the artic are far more desirable.

Some years ago, before Ford was elected. Same old same old. Similar debates. Not much has changed. I used to say

the 30% want to be the 20%
the 20% want to be the 10%
the 10% want to be the 05%
The 05% want to be the 01%

The other 70% mostly just want to be left the fuck alone so they can enjoy life, instead of taking body blows from both sides

More likely than not it's the reason they're building "smart cities", it sounds nicer than "camps". Keep the masses under surveillance and let the wealthy and priviledged roam the rest of the country and countrysides.
