Hookers and Johns really don’t get enough credit for the very valuable research we have been conducting for the past 35 years on BBBJ versus CBJ.
The whole CBJ craze started with HIV. The primary group that had HIV originally were of course gay men. Lots of unprotected oral sex and unprotected anal sex. No real way to determine how it was transmitted, although even back then the increased risk of bleeding and time of absorption in the anus caused a great number of researchers to be skeptical of any real risk from BBBJ even when CIM occurs.
Most husband / wife and boyfriend / girlfriend relationships involve BBBJ (which decline significantly over time) and BBFS (which decline less significantly over time in comparison to BBBJs, but decline nonetheless), so they are not as good of a group to study.
Only sex workers have had a significant control group that did CBJ and CFS and a control group that did BBBJ, BBBJTCIM, and BBBJNQNS, followed by CFS, with the dedication to have a large sample size. And Johns have been willing to participate enough to generate those large sample sizes.
The actual data from this bold experiment has not generated data showing that the BBBJ, BBBJTCIM, or even the BBBJNQNSs are significantly more likely to catch STDs than the CBJ group, although some groups still push the same agenda from the early AIDS days. This is further supported by the fact that sex workers talk to each other and compare data, and over the years, the CBJ only group has declined from around 75 percent to lower than 20 percent in many of the better markets. Although it is still around the 50 percent mark in some markets that used to be around 100 percent.
Let’s take a moment to congratulate ourselves, particularly the ladies who have done all the hard work, in this scientific endeavor. This poll would have looked quite differently a couple of decades ago.
