"Let's be very clear here: We are talking about women's boxing," Bach said Saturday. "We have two boxers who are born as a woman, who have been raised a woman, who have a passport as a woman, and who have competed for many years as women. And this is the clear definition of a woman. There was never any doubt about them being a woman."

"What we see now is that some want to own the definition of who is a woman," Bach added. "And there I can only invite them to come up with a scientific-based new definition of who is a woman, and how can somebody being born, raised, competed and having a passport as a woman cannot be considered a woman?''

' "If they are coming up with something, we are ready to listen," Bach added. "We are ready to look into it, but we will not take part in a sometimes politically motivated cultural war."

These statements from IOC President Thomas Bach.

So it's comes down to Matt Walsh's what is a woman question.

How about a chromosome and hormone analysis....

Aren't you on the side that argues there are only two sexes?
So this means she is a woman.

Okay, but both meet the existing IOC definition of women and this is not a "political" question. Neither is trans. Kamala Harris and Justin Trudeau didn't suddenly mandate that these person compete in the Olympics as women, which the righties appear - stupidly - to be posting on twitter.

This might prompt a reconsideration of whether the IOC definition of "woman" is appropriate - at least for strength based sports like boxing. But that is something that will have to wait until these Olympics are over.

You sad guys are trying to make the issue "political", when it seems to be a technical problem with the IOC's definition. Betcha before the righties decided to make this a social media blitz issue, no one spotted the problem and that's why it's flown under the radar until now.

Undescended testes producing high levels of testosterone. Is that an issue.
It was for that south africain track runner a few years ago remember? Casper something. She was eventually banned but if I recall was also born a female i do think.

I find it disappointing to hear that Martina has taken this stance given the anti-lesbian hate and comments about her “masculinity” that she endured throughout her career.

She has apparently been part of the “anti-trans in sports” crowd for awhile. Even though neither of the boxers are trans Martina seems easily swept up in anti-trans hate.

Yes. She was born female but had XY chromosomes that caused her body to produce large amounts of testosterone.

As a result, she was only allowed to compete if she took hormone-suppressing medication- she is still in litigation with the IAAF over whether this is a violation of her Human Rights.

In Khelif’s case, though, her testosterone levels are within IOC regulations for women. She did not have to take hormone-suppressing medication to compete.

She also competed in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics without any issue. The only place where doubt has been raised about her gender is the IBA which will not release its test results nor even identify which test(s) they administered…and even the IBA was fine with her competing until she beat a Russian boxer.

I don’t know how Matt Walsh defines a woman…but I am certain that it is offensively (and deliberately) misinformed.

As far as chromosome analysis goes:

I agree with the idea of studying this question and being guided by the science. I also suspect that as we study this issue we will find that it becomes more (not less) complicated.

Over time, I anticipate that science will not support the binary definition of man vs woman as we presently use it in understanding the human experience.

The numbers game is hilarious.

All it takes is a single mediocre male to obliterate every single record posted by all women on the planet who are alive today, have ever lived in the past, and all that will live in the future.

We only remember and celebrate gold medal winners. If males can compete with women, they effectively abolish women in sports.
I guess even of there was a blow job competition you would rate men better. I couldn't get hard but your sure could jc

Jaye Davidson was a gay actor who played the role of a trans performer in The Crying Game.

Davidson identified as an effeminate gay man. Also…spoiler alert…he has a penis.

So…the answer to your question is No.
If Jaye identified as a woman would Jaye be a woman?
