I wasn't complaining about it.Its a seperate fund that you will get back, and its necessary. There is a large segement if irresponsible people in Canada and if they did not take it in advance, they would just spend it and Canada would have to pay via social programs anyway. As for people who are responisble? some of them will fail as well and still get helped by their past savings. If it did not exist there would be no employer matching amount so you can thank the govt for getting you that extra $ from your employer,
Stop it. I said it's a rebate and then you tried to say OAS and CPP are rebates.I wasn't complaining about it.
I was responding to the poster who said the $200 isn't considered income because it comes from the gov't. So I pointed out that something like OAS is considered income.

Google is your friendOther than the word "rebate" what evidence do you have that it's not taxable?
How many family doctors could you hire with that $3 billion?Google is your friend

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announces $200 tax-free rebate cheques
The move will cost $3-billion as the Progressive Conservative government mulls an early election callwww.theglobeandmail.com
If you support Ford, you don't care about balancing budgets either! It was already in motion. And it's not a bribe, you don't owe him anything in return.
Since when do you guys care about budgets?![]()
is the carbon tax rebate considered income?CPP and OAS are considered income and they are basically a rebate of the money we contributed over years.
TBH, I don't know.is the carbon tax rebate considered income?
I do not think so
if he did not have to pay billions in interest payments on the monstrous debt load (now close to $400 B) he inherited he likely could balance the budgetIf you support Ford, you don't care about balancing budgets either!
How many family doctors could you hire with that $3 billion?
How many nurses?
lol, as I've said before Ford would get no credit balancing the budget. If you support Ford, you don't care about balancing budgets either!
No it won’t.Dumb. Ironically, if you're very low income, this $200 MIGHT make you ineligible for a lot of low income programs like the Ontario Seniors Dental program. Bummer that...
I wasn't calling for balanced budgets, I was simply pointing out that DesRicardo's was deluded if he thought Ford was any more fiscally prudent than Wynne or the others. Cancelling that LCBO/Beer store contract and paying the huge cancellation fee rather than waiting 1 year for the contract to expire was irresponsible. Calling an unnecessary election a year early is another example of waste, not to mention his absurdly costly plans for tunnels under the 401, or his $200 bribe to all (even the rich and upper middle class) which costs another 3 billion. DOH!if he did not have to pay billions in interest payments on the monstrous debt load (now close to $400 B) he inherited he likely could balance the budget
you are just being disingenuous or you are really bad with math.
As you do not recognise the fact that Dalton the Dummy and Granny Wynne assured all future Ontario premieres will be very hard press to balance the budget
The province went past the tipping point during their mis-management, when Ontario became the most indebted non-sovereign entity in the world
He likely should not have made a balanced budget a campaign promise.
Now he could go and lay off thousands of provincial public sector employees if you truly feel strongly about a balanced budget
Have you considered calling your MPP advising them to go this route ?
But if you defend him here you lose all credibility when you complain about government debt.lol, as I've said before Ford would get no credit balancing the budget.
-He doesn't spend, you guys complain he's not doing anything to help.
-He spends and gives money back to taxpayers, you complain he isn't balancing the budget

All he can do is stick to his budget.
oh hush upI wasn't calling for balanced budgets, I was simply pointing out that DesRicardo's was deluded if he thought Ford was any more fiscally prudent than Wynne or the others. "Folks, folks, folks, my $3.2billion 18-month early election bribe that adds an extra $3.2billion to the 2025 budgetary deficit and overall debt load in the forms of loans/monetary notes and ongoing interest costs using my rubes/taxpayers as collateral will balance itself!" - Your favorite charlatan Thuggy Fraud and his go-to bookie DeslizardoTo note again, the $3 Billion rebate was at no change to the projected budget. So learn the English and do the math.
There is no extra cost.
Best Premier in 35 years. Deal with it.
And what brought you out of your coma after so long?Best Premier in 35 years. Deal with it.
Let me emphasize this again: THIS IS A COMPLETE LIE."Folks, folks, folks, my $3.2billion 18-month early election bribe that adds an extra $3.2billion to the 2025 budgetary deficit and overall debt load in the forms of loans/monetary notes and ongoing interest costs using my rubes/taxpayers as collateral will balance itself!" - Your favorite charlatan Thuggy Fraud and his go-to bookie Deslizardo
The Premier said his government is able to pay for the rebates because of higher-than-expected revenues as a result of inflation on provincial sales tax revenues, and the impact of recent changes to the federal government’s capital-gains tax.
