The violin nerds are going back on tour and they are bringing gorgeous Sophie Druml with them. I still think she'd kill touring solo, she's too modest.
This is going to make me sound like a novice in the classical world.
I like the Baroque period. All this strings, the big music swells…gets me right in the feels. I like to also go to the TSO at Xmas.
That's all I know about classical music. I like it in the background on my Sirius but I couldn’t tell you what they play.
I wouldn’t know Glen Gould from Glengary Glen Ross.
But I do like listening to all sorts of music with an open mind. That’s a plus, right?
No song is better at inspiring crowds.
Folk songs like Danny Boy are as inspiring but they are cultural, Pomp and Circumstance is universal
Pomp and Circumstance is a series of five marches for orchestra composed by Sir Edward Elgar. The first march, in D major, is the most famous of the series and is often played at graduation ceremonies . The title Pomp and Circumstance comes from a phrase in Shakespeare's Othello that refers to triumph in battle.
This is a wonderful piece. Anna Netrebko and Elina Garanca look beautiful. Their dress and jewelry look very elegant. Those who saw Shawshank redemption will remember this song.
I love it; never would have thought. But it helps me focus when I'm studying; it creates the perfect atmosphere for a great study session. It also has a calming effect when I'm feeling anxious and soothes my anxiety by keeping me grounded and staying present. My Classical Bangerz playlist is just that-- bangerz

I like old school recorded classical music.
LP's - RCA with their Red Seal, and London/Decca with their ffrr line of LP's.
Angel, Deutch Grammofon as well.
ffrr is nice because they were often just a two mic affair hung in the mddle of the studio and a lot of them are small groups recorded in a single take,
And if the muscians were not photogenic, who cares.
Hearing it on a good old stereo driving full range speakers does it for me way more over ear buds with Youtube as a source.
TwoSetViolin will be back in Toronto on Nov 5th. As a Patronato of the Arts, I get ticket options for incoming concerts. I'll probably get to meet Eddy and Brett, I'll resist the urge to give Sophie a big sloppy kiss.
