RIP Angie Stone. Tragically killed in an automobile accident earlier this month. She was big in the neo soul movement of the 2000's staring with her debut LP 'Mahogany Soul' in 2001.

"I Wanna Thank Ya" feat. Snoop Dogg

"I Ain't Hearin' U"

"Brotha"

In the April issue of Record Collector magazine out of the UK there is a feature article on Dionne Warwick

Imho she is one of the most talented female vocalists of all time.

Here is one with Dionne and The Spinners:

In the early Bacharach/David years she was one of the few vocalists who could handle their complex arrangements, and was their go-to...

Isaac Hayes released a cover of Walk On By in 1969. As good as it is, it doesn't touch the original. Dionne's voice and that piano are spine tingling.

Isaac's version (which is considerably longer)

In uncertain times everybody needs some Northern Soul rarities..

Not sure what the girl in the passenger seat is holding in her right hand from time to time

Even after watching the clip 20 times!

I think I'm in love...

The beginning of this sounds like the guitars in Gwen Guthrie's "Padlock" starting at 0:54

I really dig a lot of the Northern Soul sound because of the up tempo. The dancing well that's another issue...
