This barely made the news anywhere.

For all the pressure and hate trump is getting, Xi is also feeling the pressures from different factions, i.e. shanghai clique, PLA, etc. It just isnt reported anywhere.

If Xi was the one who launched the trade through unilateral imposition of
hefty tariffs on U.S. imports would be the one getting all the pressure and
hate Trump is getting. Xi is only pragmatic to lower tariffs now that Trump
is showing signs of panic.

Xi doesnt have a reason to launch a trade war. When you are the ones taking advantage of the systems and rules for over 2+ decades then you have no reason to complain or retaliate.

So Xi has no reason to retaliate in your view. What could Xi have gained had
he just accepted Trump's tariffs with no complaints? And shoujld Canada
also opt to go long with Trump's tariffs without complaints as well?

Given that the CCP has virtually broken every single condition they promised to keep in order to join the WTO, what justification would they have to ever start a trade war? They have gotten away with breaking rules without ant sort of real punishment for decades.

No canada, does not employ slave labour, they have laws for IP theft, thry dont provide heavy subsidies into strategic industries to illegally dump goods onto foreign nations. Canada does have a weak border, some weak laws and incredibly compromised politicians that favour an adversarial nation. We are also an ally and great neighbour to the state and are politically and ideologically aligned. I hope we can work out the differences amicably. However, when the current PM seems to be compromised by his business interest in Beijing and thr AIIB, i can see why negotiations between canada and the U.S. are very difficult.

Fuck diefenbaker fuck Mulroney and fuck harper. They all cowtowed to the US. Justin may have made some mistakes but he was never afraid to stand up to thre orangeutan. With peepee you will get more of doefenbaker Mulroney and Harper. Bunch of asslickijg cowards. My ideology aligns more closely with conservatives in a lot of respects but I cannot bear to watch so called leaders pretending like we aren't worth of even being the 51st state. Canada had some amazing aeroengineers when we developed the best interceptor in history only to have the US order diefenbaker to scrap it and send the avro arrow which was still state of the art 20 years later into thr bottom of Lake Ontario. All the engineers got great jobs at Boeing NASA and Lockheed Martin. Before NAFTA Canada was doing good and self sufficient. It wasn't a horrible deal for Canada until some fuckwad like Trump comes along

Nortel????

Or the 20 cdn government networks hacked by the CCP???

So because of your immense hatred for trump, you would align with a leader who is beholden to the CCP. Sound logic.

Why, do you love Trump?

Is China or The USA now the biggest threat when Trump once again stated that he is "not trolling" when he brings up Canada becoming "The 51st State"?

The original plan is for Canada to supply the south with raw materials, the US does high end manufacturing and R&D, Mexico does low-medium end manufacturing to displace China. As Mexico moves up the wealth ladder then countries south of Mexico will do the low-medium end manufacturing. We will gradually decouple from China, and I am for that.

But this Trumptard fucked it all up, total fucking house of Tards.

I neither like or dislike trump. But i respect him for finally being the one to recognize that the west has to stand up against xi and the CCP. As a chinese person, i immensely respect the government of Taiwan, lithuania, czech republic for standing up to the CCP (i would go to jail for publicing voicing this opinion in China.)

If i were potus i wouldnt want a communist regime at my doorstep either. I believe we really need to get our house in order

Are you inferring that Canada is a "Communist" Nation? Trump is the one who loves autocrats around the Globe. His undemocratic manner in which he is implementing all sorts of undemocratic measures is the real threat to all The Democratic nations. The Mid terms in the USA is critical to bringing him to check on all these horrendous policies of his!!

I'm inferring that Canada unfortunately does have several vulnerabilities regarding exposure to the Chinese Communist Party. Many nations do. It is time we clean this up. If we don't, we risk more severe influence from an adversarial government.

This sums up democracy in China. And we allow this government to continually interfere in our elections, threaten our politicians, infiltrate our government institutions, etc.

Chinese hacking of Nortel is part of the reason why they went bankrupt.

I know a lot of people who lost millions of dollars in Nortel stock when they went belly up
Chinese hacking played a minor role. During the dot com boom Nortel spent 20 billion buying internet companies and it was a total loss. Then Nortel spent the next few years trying to hide the losses through fraudulent accounting.

Interesting.

trump is just as corrupt and morally screwed as Xi.
If you're declaring moral standards, make them apply to everyone.

I definitely dont think this is the case or is even close. But you have a right to your own opinion.

Im not a trump fan. He says and does a lot of things i dont like. But he also does a lot of things i respect. For instance i was extremely skeptical about being so close to elon and handling doge (i agreed with doge in principal.) I thought trump may get influenced by one of the richest men in the world and have a softer stance on china. IMO, elon is severely compromised by xi and china and has had tremendous sway on ppl looking at china more favourably. But trump so far has stuck to his assessment on china and left elon out of that particular part of his policy.
