Libs will rely on the BQ for support. Quebec gets tossed goodies and the Libs stay in power for 5 years and Albskatchewan takes an ass kicking.
All they need to do is grab the NDP with their 7 seats. Throw them funding money they've lost due to losing party status and boom, they now have a majority. Fuck BQ, I can't stand their leader and party.

Jagmeet was expected to lose his seat but Pierre certainly was not. I'm dumfounded that he lost and by the 4%+ margin. I'm also shocked at Conservative incumbent Rick Perkins losing St. Margaret's-South Shore by so much. Same with Michelle Ferreri (not MILF alert btw) in Peterborough.
This was a bizarre election. The vote heavy 55+ age group swung hard from Conservative to Liberal while the 18-34 age group swung towards the Conservatives from the Liberal/NDP. I'm not sure how my age group 35-54 voted it was virtually a 50/50 split in the 2021 election between LIB and CON.
I can’t remember but was it you who wanted to make the wager???? I should have done it. LOL.

PP may have lost his seat. Til a few months ago, the Cons were predicted to be headed towards a massive majority, but the combination of Trump's insanity and the appearance of Mark Carney now has the Libs just a few short of a majority, which can easily be bolstered by a handful of NDP members in a confidence vote. So PP is a big flop and his party will have no power in the House.
We are lucky he never received his security clearance and isn't privy to Canada's secrets! Whew! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I am more worried about the next generation. From a personal perspective the Liberal government won't affect me, but sooner or later, addressing the debt problems is going to impact the country as a whole. Obviously Carney with his additional $330 billion in debt over the next 4 years, doesn't plan on addressing things in the near term, and will only make the problem bigger. And Canada isn't alone, the western world is debt burdened. And the baby boomer generation (which includes me) are the ones putting these parties in power that won't deal with reality.
But Canada's debt to GDP is good.
Its clear that populists like trump and Pee Pee are even worse for the debt.

Now we're back to lib/NDP minority, that's good for the country.

Don't be dumbfounded.
This is what we have been saying all along.
You guys, and even Pierre, thought that the authoritarian ideals that worked in the US, would work in Canada.
This election highlighted how wrong you were with that assumption.
There is no place for far right politics in Canada and this election was a resounding rejection of the far right by Canadians.

Biggest loser of the election, Canadians. Second biggest loser was the NDP, losing party status, but somehow they will be able to continue to leverage their small number to push their agenda through the Liberals. That is, if they can find a leader amongst their 7 MPs. Carney's acceptance speech lacked any inspirational vibes and he came across as a monotone low energy speech and taking a swipe at Poilievre was classless, but knowing Carney it was typical of his style. I predict Canada isn't going to be on a happy path under his leadership.
Right!? He’s so tepid. I thought I was the only one underwhelmed by his comportment and demeanour. Even his gesticulations lack the decisiveness of a politician. His handshake is probable cold, limp, and flaccid.

Libs tried to sell him as the right man to “manage” Trump. Trump has to be emotionally managed everyone knows that. Big fancy finance backgrounds don’t impart emotional intelligence or charisma.

FIRST thing he did was lie to everyone about a critical part of his phone call with Trump. He had to explain why he purposely omitted that Trump had referred to us again as the 51st state. When asked if he was being dishonest, he just half-heartedly handwaved it and said “Well Trump says a lot things that he likes to circle back on…?” and shrugged. Limply and dispassionately.

He didn’t even disclose what he said in response to that, and was vague and obfuscating. He probably didn’t say anything back to Trump, and just awkwardly sidestepped it while Trump took mental notes about how hard he should poke him next time, lol. I can honestly imagine it in my head. Cringeworthy.

I would really prefer we had someone more spirited (like Pierre!) advocating for our country, especially to Trump, who is probably gleefully testing the PM’s boundaries.

Carney practically has complete flat affect when he isn’t speaking , face completely slack, eyes dull — he’s got the emotional expressiveness of drywall! I was startled when I saw a photo of him genuinely laughing. I was convinced he was an automaton, or p-zombie, or something else lifeless masquerading as a man.

His eyes are so opaque too, it makes me not trust him, because it’s hard to get a read on him. Behind his eyes it’s just the abyss, void all the way down. Not really the makings of a leader. But hey, his resume made the boomers feel safe, so. He has that going for him.

Pierre is prickly but I like that. He comes across as very transparent to me and forthright to me.

Carney is going to just make Canada look even more feeble to Trump. Why would they think Trump gives a single shit about this man’s finance background? Trump is going to trample this guy, lol.

One of the most dangerous Conservatives elected is JD Vance's puppet Jamil Jevani. I couldn't stand him as a talk show host on 1010 and he's worse as a politician with power.

Jamil Jivani slams Doug Ford during fiery interview
Jivani is an ugly, bulldog face baldy who will split the Tories and royally fuck them up.

He is dumber and more abrasive than Pee was. He will piss off the moderates and get the far righties hooting like apes and banging their desks and the results will be chaos +++++ !! 😹 😹

So, criticism mainly on superficial stuff like how he looked and acted.

I guess he's not a good car salesman. Let's see if he is better at other things not mentioned.

We lived under Trudeau for years, bro was a dictator in spirit 😂. If he wasn’t such a tampon, and more of a chad like his father (the Cuban one) we may have been in trouble.

I don’t know what was so authoritarian about Pierre to you. What do you find so threatening? That he wants to give harsher sentences to criminals? He wasn’t like Trump re. immigration or foreign policy. I genuinely never heard him suggest anything radical, ever.

He’s a politician, his manner of communication is extremely important, both verbal and non-verbal. And yes, he should be able to “sell”, to persuade, and to get people to work in our interests. That is his job. That’s not any more or less “superficial” of a requirement than a good resume.

He is our front facing person. Lacking these skills would make him impotent.

(I’d argue this stuff is important for everyone tbh, but I don’t push that on people and worry about myself.)

Congratulations Liberals. Now we can have more uncontrolled immigrants, refugees, without vetting properly, more inflation, crime and chaos in our streets. Red tape to block mining projects, increased taxes and lower wages.
Looking forward for the century initiative.

His error was in adopting Trump adjacent positions to appeal to what he saw as a populist turn in Canada.
I don't care what Pierre believes on issues such as DEI and gender, for example. His opinion.
But when asked, he should have said said that in Canada we are inclusive and people of all gender identities and sexual orientations are protected by law, and the conservative party will continue to uphold those values.
Would have been simple enough, but he answered the question with a question saying "Do you know of more than 2 genders"?
Then he blew the crime rate in Canada out of proportion to propose a 3 strikes law, that could face constitutional challenges.
Which reminded Canadians of Trump and his violating of the American constitution as he denied due process to the people he deported.
This scared people into voting Liberal because Canadians saw this as authoritarian.
American authoritarian populism is popular on social media.
But this doesn't work in Canada.
He should have stuck to economy, housing, bringing immigration down to a reasonable level and came out swinging against Trump during the tariffs (which he didn't. he was largely invisible imo).

And if the first thing he did on the job was lie, it’s bad look.

But sure, let’s see how well he “invests” those hundreds of billions of dollars. He’s the money man.

Kirk, to quote Frank Zappa, the crux of the biscuit was the Ontario Tories not supporting PP. It was Stephen Harper who got Erin O'Toole ousted then lobbied for PP. Now the tables have turned, Ford holds the hammer. Michael Guglielmin unseated a Liberal Party stalwart in Greg Sorbara by almost 10K votes. If he decides to run for the Conservative Party leadership, you bet your ass Ford will support him.

As for Trump...

Two things:
1) Carney said Canada and other states will sell of US bonds if trump continues his bullshit.
2) After the call trump stopped calling Carney 'the governor' and 'delayed' the tariffs.

I know he paid lip service there.
But am talking on issues such as DEI, gender identity etc.,
It's in our political culture to be inclusive.
He couldn't say that.
Instead he was engaging in double speak and projecting Trumpism.
Now he lost his own seat lmfao.
Trumpism has no place in a civilized country.
I hope the CPC learned their lesson.
I posted he was not aligned with trump. You deny reality and call it lip service.

People like you are the reason this country has gone to shit.

Congrats.
