The Cons didn’t perform horribly this election— they deserve credit for preventing a liberal majority. Yet obviously they also blew a huge lead. PP isn’t even an elected MP now. So what does he do? Steal someone else’s seat or pack it up?

They have a burgeoning party unity problem, spelled out blatantly by Jamil Jivani attacking Duggo on CBC news last night. The party moderates - i.e. people from / who want to win in Vancouver / the EGH - probably want a centrist policy approach. The Albskatchewan people - like Pee and Scheer - were blatantly anti mainstream and supported the KKKonvoy for instance. This doesn't help them in ON or urban BC, but probably rocks out in AB / SK.

How long the 2 groups can stand each other remains to be seen.

The CPC had that election in their pocket if they ran a guy who wasn't far right and personally dweebish and mean minded. Someone a little more intellectual would have been nice too. The lack of security clearance - I mean, wtf with that?!?!?!? - and a policy platform sucked shit as well.

OTOH, they did "okay". So it's not as though Pee is blatantly the wrong choice, he just kinda is. (And he will blame Duggo and the Trump 51s state bullshit for the loss in any event).

The other consideration is "how much more do they want to please AB / SK anyway?"..... They win almost every seat between Winnipeg and Chilliwack as it is. They could pull out their dicks and piss on the podium and Moose Jaw would still 90% vote Tory. So maybe going with a more Ontario-friendly policy platform and leader would work better for them??

Once Trudeau stepped down, Trump got to power, Pierre continuing to rely on such tactics turned people off while Carney came off as strong, reasonable, level headed and inclusive.
