the 36 trillion in debt the US govt has accumulate in the past 240 years is projected to double in the next 9 years given the status quo
20% of all govt revenue is spent on the interest payments to service of the current debt

unless the US govt drastically reduces its spending and very soon it will become insolvent
and that will create a global depression, not a recession, a global depression.
and Canada will not be immune from that

the left are so focused on opposing DOGE they do not recognise DOGE was trying to prevent this catastrophe
instead they will watch in horror as Medicaid, Medicare, social security run out of funding in the next decade or so.

DOGE ended up adding more debt, its done now and saved nothing.
All it did was let Elon kill investigations into his companies.

Trump just passed a budget bill, more tax breaks for the rich, more pain for the lower and middle class.

This is all about the bill. September. So it doesn't matter what Canada says. Go actually look at the British deal. The Auto carve out is meaningless. Tariffs are still on most things. Same with us. Once the reconciliation bill is decided, unless Trump capitulates again like with China(he bowed to internal pressure from CEO's) then we get a deal that will be USMCA with a few tweaks. Or tariffs stay on worldwide, that's the new reality, and we deal, just like the rest of the world then.

G7 in July. Maybe something happens then. But Trump isn't really dealing.
