i do not understand how you can admire someone who views you as a sucker and a rube

LMAO, my honourable fried, I don't do social media. I'm not giving my data to Zucco and his filthy Robber Barron cadres. I actually admire Catherine McKenna, she turned your shaman, the haughty Napoleon Poilievre into a sucker and a rube. Also can you change your handle to Rico Suave?

I knew Carnie was the beta dog to Trump being the alpha when I watched their first meeting.

Carnie told Trump he was nervous, and Trump put his hand on Carnie's leg in a calming gesture.

If Carnie had actually been a dog, when meeting Trump he would have rolled over and shown Trump his belly, or even submission peed...

Carney gave in pretty quick.
All digital service taxes have been rescinded

Trump asked him to at the G7, clearly the negotiations were not going as Trump promised, so Carney had the Finance minister say the taxes would be implemented. Of course predictably Trump blew a fuse lol. So they clearly had a conversation and Carney got to air his dissatisfaction with the negotiations with sleazeball Nutlick. So while there were no official "concessions" made by the USA there were clearly informal ones and they agreed to a July 21 goal. The tax can easily be reinstated and other revenue measures can be taken like license fees or even tariffs if they don't go well. And Carney probably reserved the right to reconsider the tax if there is not a reasonable solution to the tariffs. So we know Canada rescinded the tax, but we will only see what we got in return in the next few weeks because our PM is a sharp professional and not a moronic blowhard.

Nothing ridiculous here. Trump sets goal posts. We met it. If he moves them again we can say fuck you. If it works, we move on.

I stated this won't be settled soon. It's likely to easily go into the fall, and beyond to 2026 when USMCA is up for renegotiation. In the mean time some hurt will happen.

But in the end Trump is the one causing the hurt. All we can do is mitigate it. No point cutting bad deals that will hurt our economy to remove tariffs that are hurting our economy. It's all a wash. Better to grind him down. He needs deals.
You say no point cutting bad deals? Trump has got almost everything he's wanted from us and hasn't given an inch. Carney has been a patsy so far.

At this point, we might actually become a 51st state. :ROFLMAO:

He has nothing. There is no deal. Lots of pauses on things, some tariffs up, lots still mitigated by USMCA.

US wine sales down 94% to Canada, which is their largest client. Tourism losing billions. Other boycotts costing everyday. There own manufacturing base increasing prices to Americans, even those not affected by tariffs.

And once that Big Ugly bill goes in, 12 million lose healthcare. Foreclosures will be coming to Florida, And other parts, lots of loan defaults on Student Debt, CC debt. Hurricane season coming with cuts to FEMA.

You think he is winning?

You are wrong. He has bitten off more than he can chew in the world. He already capitulated to China, has no 90 deals in 90 days, is Israel's bitch, and now had to bend the knee to the tech oligarchs. He has dissent in the GOP ranks.

We are actually minor to things. Our Economy is fine at this point. Local producers sales are up. We are diversifying our trade partners. The USA will even lose Military sales. And no one is going to trust the word of anything he signs now.

This shit is going to drag out as the USA economy, and his voter base suffers some of the worst of it. Then watch what happens.

Lol. Really? I'm sitting back, and watching as things unfold. So far we have a law that never collected a penny, that still won't collect a penny for now. That's it.

We have reciprocal tariffs, and a continuing Canadian boycott costing them 10's of billions. While pretty much not costing the average Canadian consumer much. Meanwhile the USA is sliding into the shitter.

It's Trump that's starting the stages you listed. It's just he is so immature Denial and Anger are taking a long time to pass.
