15. However. My ancestors moved to Ottawa, when it was upper Canada in the 18th century. As in the 1700's And stayed there. My sister actually found the passenger list from the ship that my oldest ancestor took to Boston from Ireland. I guess Boston was too exciting for him. Moved to Ottawa. My dad fought in the second world war. All in all I think that makes me a Canadian.
So, 200 years of this shit.
Happy Canada Day.
I got out of Ottawa.
Too many ghosts.
I remember watching a documentary on Paul Anka where he went to revisit his old house in Ottawa, with a film crew. They went upstairs to his old bedroom where there was a view of the frozen snowy wasteland. He said he used to look out of his bedroom window and say to himself. "I've got to get the fuck out of here"

Living in Ontario, and attending uni in Ottawa helped on a few.

But wilderness canoeing experiences, and cross country road trips east and west coast aided too.

Just missing the Stampede and visiting a territory kept men from getting full points.

They missed the most Canadian question though:

On a wilderness canoe trip when you have been on the trip for few days.
You are making pancakes and moquitoes and blackflies perish in the batter as you mix it.

Do you continue as though nothing unusual happened
And just consider them a free source of protein in your breakfast?

Yup. Also gain some sick pleasure out of frying the fuckers after their relatives have been bleeding me dry for days….

Trying to stay in a Happy Place
Only two I haven't experienced - Calgary Stampede and visiting a territory.
No real interest in the Stampede - but would like to go canoe tripping in a territory some day.

For me bonus points would be skating on the Rideau Canal while sipping a hot chocolate (without spilling it) and eating a Beavertail. I have done that many times (Killaloe Sunrise was my favorite type of Beavertail!!)

I didn't do great, only 12 and half of those were gimmes.
I am assuming that seeing a moose or whale in a zoo or aquarium don't count? If this is right I am at 19

I am not having poutine I just don't like gravy

Getting to a Territory is not an easy one. I am at 9 or 10 Provinces but don't see getting to a Territory before I hit the 10th Province.

No interest in Stampede

Mr. Butler: I assume that seeing a whale means you've been to Newfoundland. Anyway, I don't skate, so I've never played hockey, so I lose out there. I have been to all ten provinces, however, can I claim an extra point?
