China now owns the solar cell market with the US being forced out of production by trump and the oil$gas industry.

They installed 93GW of solar in May this year alone. That's more electricity than the US uses in total.

If China does this, it will be the end of the oil$gas rule.

Because the West has off loaded it's industrial capacity to China.
China is also the world leader in developing and implementing green, sustainable energy.
They're light years ahead.
The real driving force moving China's renewable energy development
forward in such a rapid pace might have been overlooked by the west.

Climate activists are fond of pointing to the remarkably
rapid deployment of solar and wind power in China as the
model of successful transition to renewable energy for mitigating
climate change.

In reality China has no choice but to expedite development
of renewable energy for prosperity now and for its own survival
in the near future.

China understands the world is steadily running out of low
cost undeveloped fossil fuel resources. It is just a matter of
time before coal, oil and gas are no longer affordable. China
knows all too well the time to kick start the transition to the
era of expensive fossil fuel is NOW when oil and gas are still
abundant and reasonably cheap.

Yet the share of power generated from coal has dropped from nearly 80% to 60% during that time.

wrong

AI Overview

Coal use worldwide | powering transition in Europe
Global coal reserves are vast, with proven reserves estimated to last for over a century at current consumption rates.

AI Overview

The World's Largest Oil Reserves by Country In 2024 - WorldAtlas
In 2024, global oil consumption reached a new high of 101.8 million barrels per day (bpd), while proven oil reserves were estimated at 1,765.2 billion barrels.

AI Overview

Natural Gas Statistics and Facts (2025)
Global natural gas reserves are estimated to last for about 53 years at current consumption rates, but this doesn't account for untapped or developing reserves. While reserves are finite, advancements in exploration and technology, like shale gas extraction, are constantly adding to the potential supply.

Is Carney's 5% based on taking trump's 51st state threats seriously and prepping defence against US invasion?
no, he doesn’t want to be called out on the world stage, he will just fail to deliver.

Because have to Import their oil and gas.
‘China is also building 90% of the worlds new coal plants.

Coal power is lower cost than wind and solar. It makes sense
to use up earth's remaining coal reserves while the west is phasing
it out all for fighting climate change.

So what?
Their emissions to industrial output is relatively the same to the U.S. while their manufacturing is more energy intensive and requires more resource refinement.
China's population is 4x that of U.S.
At the same time they're the world leaders in green energy while the U.S. is backtracking.
As well, their coal production capacity is also a strategic hedge against energy supply shortfalls due to security concerns.
I was giving you a rationale, you're just looking to point your ideological finger with no context at all.

I hadn't realized how old you are.
That hasn't been true for a decade or so now.

Solar's cost has dropped by 85% over the last decade.
Not so for coal, oil or gas.
