Next season schedule is out.
We start with the Athletics, white Sox and Rockies.
That is as soft as it can get.

The problem is nobody in our pen has done anything in the month of August except Tommy Nance.
So there is no one to point to as an immediate replacement.

With a tired pen last night, Hoffman was the best choice to close last night and got it done, so he hangs around for at least a little while longer.

HolyFuck! Hoffman just blew a 1-1 tie hold , gives up back to back HRs , top of 9th,, 3-1 Brewers now. Should have kept Domingues in there, Jays wont make a comeback. Only hope is for Bosox and Yanks lose today. Jays will be swept tomorrow
No wonder other teams passed on signing him.

Jays need a closer and we don't have one.
You're not going to win a World series without a good closer

Like I said before, DFA Hoffman use Berrios as a reliever and promote Yesavege as a reliever also( Schneider has said it aint off the table)

They keep using Hoffman they will finish out of WC

Not bad, José Berríos has allowed 24 hits, 4 home runs, and 9 walks, recording 27 strikeouts in the first inning. He has a first-inning ERA of 3.95, a first-inning WHIP of 1.26, and a first-inning record of 9-5. He runs into trouble 3rd time through IIRC

Another waste of a great performance by a starting pitcher.
Let's not give Hoffman 100% of the blame. The bats have been anemic the last 2 games, and we know this team doesn't do well with less than 5 runs in a game.

Hoffman is completely ineffective and I don't see him bouncing back anytime soon, if ever. They have to stop using him... ok maybe in a mop up role and batting practice until they find someone to fill his roster spot. I cringe every time he is handed the ball and end up swearing in frustration a few minutes later. Even Joey Mclaughlin at 69 may be a better option.

Yes, that'll work, he or Domingues , excellent job by the 2 today.

8-4 Jays bottom of 8th, Looks like Hoffman for the hold for the 9th, he will blow it!!!! Bad decision by Schneider.
I can't watch, I gotta partially watch through my hands akin to Philly fans did when they watched Mitch Williams.
