The worst even to happen in 2025 was the Putin-Trump Summit in Alaska. Putin wasn't there to talk peace, he was there to gauge what he could get away with. When the Pelosi story first broke the press wrongly suggested that both the attacker and Pelosi himself were wearing underwear when cops showed up. Thats where all the jokes started and people though it was some gay lover's quarrel that got out of one hand. After more information came out it became obvious it the attacker was unknown to Pelosi.
I have never said its okay to attack people with hammers, so the answer to your question is "no".

Now, I do not celebrate his death. Political violence is abhorrent, regardless of who does it. Kirk said many vile, bigoted and racists things during his short life, but that does not mean who should get a bullet to the throat. He should be ostracized by polite society.
But, what I do find amusing here is the right-wing media in a tizzy about this, when they laugh or make jokes about shit that happens to Democratic politicians, like the Minnesota legislators, the arsonist who hit the Pennsylvania governor's mansion, or Nancy Pelosi's husband being attacked. And we know statistically that mass shootings have been predominantly done by white right-wing men. But, I see skid marks like Matt Walsh say the left are terrorists...
