The even funnier part is that you need to nit pick to try to un-funny a joke. And make yourself the joke.
I have had the unique opportunity to be friends with a writer on the Craig Ferguson show and got to sit in on a half hour of the writers meeting. Aside from that, it is common knowledge that all the late night shows, SNL etc have teams of writers. And comics. also buy and sell jokes to each other.
And that my joke was deliberately edited down to the bare minimum to have max effect. Over-explaining ruins a joke.
But the funniest part is that you,
The Orifice, think you are so superior to the rest of us, and think we are such rubes, that you think that we don't know that comedy shows have teams that work up the jokes.
Sometimes, by not saying anything, people might wonder if someone is stupid. More often than not, saying something stupid removes all doubt.
