When Carney gets together with that dumb ass Trump, the moment Trump brings up the 51st {never going to happen} state comment, Carney needs to look that dumb ass Trump, straight in the eyes and say " We 🇨🇦 are not interested in your bullshit"...

I don’t think there is much focus on Canada.

that might make a lot of people happy for...... about an hour
the next day there would be new tariffs applied against Canada

see how long ?
a lot longer than ''before our people start to go broke''

The US economy is very resilient and diverse
Our economy is far more reliant upon trade
But Trump is to blame for all this. The cost of living in the US is still going up and wages are not. Even the magats are staring to smell the coffee. Between that and the Epstein files and his dementia, his time may be limited..... or, we all go to hell.

Sure trump is to blame for the tariff war he started
he wants to steal market share from others including Canada
that is obvious

your TDS aside
the facts remain
The US economy is very resilient and diverse
Our economy is far more reliant upon trade

hoping for a Trump downfall is not a strategy
your thinking is child like

instead we should call his bluff and eliminate all tariffs between Canada and the US
Steel, Aluminum, auto parts, dairy, softwood lumber etc and build some pipelines (Keystone, to the west coast, to the east coast)
scrape all of the carbon taxes and reverse Trudeaus economically chocking regulations
that way we avoid going to economic hell and can grow our economy

Trump isn't responsible of our economy...the leaders we elect are... Trudeau had no interest dealing with Trump, all he did was posturing up regardless how it effects Canadians...I'm just glad he's out....Carney seems to be at least showing he's ready to make some deals and who's surprise the liberals are ready to scream "sell out" if he does make deals with Trump?

Even larue knows there is no point making a deal with trump.
See Qatar.

Even when he wasn't senile his word was useless.
Now?

It would be really interesting what is said behind closed doors. Carney is not stupid enough to be baited, but I would hope there are redlines. There are many items theu need from us. But there are certain things the gov does need to say, for example, if people attack our car industry their companies will not be allowed to sell cars in Canada and Canada will partner with other nations and companies to produce a fair share of vehicles. Ultimately the number of jobs manufacturing cars will keep falling as automation continues to increase however. Maybe the answer is we invite CATL To build a battery/ EV Skateboard factory and use that platform to supply everything.

I don't know that I'd want to say anything behind doors with trump, he's such a bullshitter.
Make it all public, give him a vague compliment like 'transformative' and smile and shake his hand.
The words he says mean nothing and his promises even less.

You just show up in the hope that he remembers Canada aren't enemies, if that can stay through the dementia.
