I never realized just how much a large portion of the Asian communities liked Kirk. I found out the day he was shot and a few of my Canadian Chinese friends messaged me about it.
I sometimes wonder if he wasn't killed for the mere fact that what he was doing was having such a profound impact on bringing people together with similar values and that didn't sit right with the powers that be, that includes the black community along with the Asian community.

The bullet was found outside of his shoulder blade and underneath the skin on his back, covering his shoulder blade scapula. That was released/announced by the trauma surgeon who treated him in the emergency room. It was a spontaneous utterance by a random Doctor Who happened to be on duty.

if you go back in the thread to an earlier post, I made with images of Kirk hunched over, the bullet trajectory entering the lower part of his neck would have travelled through his neck, muscles, ribs, front, and back and shoulder blade. The trajectory was downwards and he was slouched forward. The bullet had a good 12 inches of muscle, several ribs, etc. to dissipate the energy. And if it hit a bone initially, if we were led core non-fully jacketed bullet, it would’ve very likely fragmented internally.

Also, if it is a lightweight 150 grain soft point or hollow point it will expand and fragment immediately upon entry. This is desirable for lighter weight, target as it transfers all the energy via hydrostatic shock and shrapnel from the fragmentation.
Full metal jacket/ball ammunition will go right through and penetrate deeply. This is what you would use on moose or bear.
