Well, when it comes to healthcare, "cheap" has two meanings. One of the reasons USA always bounces back is because of the people who take care of themselves and not rely on the government. Why do you think Canadian doctors do not refill prescriptions over the phone anymore? Or why you need to see a doctor just to learn your blood test was OK. Because this is how doctors are get paid by government - per visit. The pay system is the same in the USA too, but insurance companies that pay these money to doctors care about the money and anything that can be done by the phone cheap and fast is done by the phone, anything that can be done by a nurse instead of doctors are done by nurses. The government does not care about the money much and lots get wasted. As a result, doctors in the USA are earning much more than in Canada and Canada has a shortage of doctors.

You’re right it is very complicated. Just the thought of it is a huge turn off. I think it would be good for Canada to allow Americans to live there visa free. Y’know if I can make 100K in the USA and then live in a nice high-rise you know in Etobicoke or Toronto would be Life changing. I can pop all the international girls at the spas, head home, do some work, go to the gym, then relax. I don’t have to worry about stings, people shooting up schools, shooting me up, robbing me, no more trump, all that crazy shit. Just peace and quiet. All the times I’ve been in Toronto. I felt so much more safer than I ever was living in America. I love America. I was born here, but honestly, this place is extremely overrated.
So, people who went through 4 years in college, had two gap years working mediocre jobs at health care, then spending 4 years at medical school, then 5 years residency (with mediocre pay and 60 hours/week work) and between any of these milestones facing a risk of not getting inn and had wasted all these years for nothing should be paid how much?
I think medical school should be cheapened and subsidized. I think residency should be paid. And then depending on specialty anywhere from 2-5 hundred thousand a year.
