I would predict a Newsom/Harris ticket in 2028. Harris might start out running, but she can only making it into office behind Newsom.

You really need a populist on the left like Mamdani and wish there were some.

I think AOC would be good on the ticket with Newsom.
Newsom is really more of the Biden, Harris, Israel first ilk, but I guess that is the best the Dems can do for now.
The only real alternative to Newsom at present is Pritzker.
Mamdani is the path forward for the dems but they'd need to purge the Pelosi/corporate side for that to happen.

Using the logic of Trump supporter denial supporters, EITHER of them are more competent than Trump. Unless you are ranking in terms of corruption competence.
I read they're positioning AOC to run in 2028. I don't think either side has great politicians.

Newsome will throw his hat in the ring for the Democrat nomination....But might now make it in the long run, depending on who else is in the running. I do like the way he fights back at Trump and the administration, mocking their childish messaging and policies. He is smart, good looking and can really communicate. There is no chance Harris will ever run again for president. America might have held their nose and twice elected a black man....but a women apparently is a bridge too far. Who would've thought they were more mysoginistic than racist...

Unfortunately for the dems, looks like Kamala wants to do it one more time ni the primaries and she's still a threat to Newsom... Don't forget Michelle Obama could also run and she also has her following...The democrat primary will be a blood bath. But choosing the right candidate could give the republicans a real threat on 2028.
