More power to you Twister.

I'm attempting to lose weight now, 8 lbs so far. If you want to lose the belly fat, crunches alone won't do it. You have to hit the entire core - all the support muscles. Two exercises that helped me:

Bicycles crunches - with your hands behind your head crunch while simulating riding a bike and move your torso so that your right elbow touches your left knee and vica versa.

Reverse crunch - on a Roman chair work your back muscles. Use your back to move from a perpendicular to horizontal position. WARNING, your back is going to be stiff if you've never done it before. Persevere and your belly will tighten with the added benefit of no more back aches.

Good luck, hope this helps.

I have tried those, and it crushed my testicles. Couldn't make it comfortable.

First congrats you are doing a fine job (down 35 lbs) consistency is key , Persevere and keep going , the crunches will build your ab muscles but diet is the only way to loose the fat
- side note I am shredded but I too have some fat still to loose just below the belly button and am working on it .
Correct especially aswe get older.

Nice work op!
It may have been mentioned, but lots more cardio, core strength training. If you have not already tried to cut even more sugar and refined wheat products, more protein, and greens. Good luck and hope this helps.

Congrats!! What did you do to lose the 20lbs? I’ll currently in a calorie deficit right now for the summer hoping to lose 5-10lbs just to have some of my abs to show 😊

If one can make abdominal fat go away just
simply by losing weight having a fatty liver will
not have to be treated as a disease. Not even starving
could fix the nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. It could
even worsen the condition.
Fatty liver can be quickly resolved on Keto diet. Been there done that. Have to change how the body burns from carbs to ketones.

So I work out and watch my food. Lost 35 lbs, my face arms legs everything is skinnier but my belly. Whats a guy have to do to lose weight in the belly area? I was told hundreds of crunches don't work and that some diets hit belly fat. :frusty:
This a non-workout related tip. But you need to consider the amount of stress you have in your life.

Stress releases a hormone called cortisol and cortisol produces belly fat. Therefore, the more stressed out you are the more fat you're going to collect in the tummy area.

Also, it's 80% diet and 20%. Working out. Your diet overall is much more important than what you're doing in the gym. So make sure that you clean up your diet. Drink a lot of water.

Steady state cardio is a waste of time. If you have stubborn belly fat. You need to try something like high intensity interval training. You can achieve in 20 minutes. What would not really take well over an hour on the treadmill.

Cardio will help start reducing the layer of fat over your abs. The ab work you do will start building your abdominals under the layer of fat. And slowly you'll start to see progress. But abdominal weight is the hardest to get rid of.

Continue to work out in the gym and focus on building muscle. Muscle burns more calories at rest than fat does. So you'll naturally boost your metabolism the more muscle you have.

Immediately quit drinking beer. When I quit drinking beer. I lost 10 lb and 3 in off my waist. Eliminating all alcohol is even better. My waistline never looked better until I quit drinking

Eating smaller, infrequent meals throughout the day instead of having your biggest meal at dinner will balance your diet and keep your metabolism steady.

I could go on but I don't want to be overwhelming. But I know what it's like when you're struggling to lose weight around your stomach area. Because it can be so stubborn

The small arms and legs combined with a large belly is the hallmark of a 'dad bod', and something we once aspired to. Heck, if you ask SPs on this board they claim to love and even prefer it. But I have to question their sincerity. When The Bachelorette comes on they're not screaming for the dude with the dad bod. Hmm, mysterious world.

Seriously?

Run a couple miles a day and watch more fat loss from legs than rest of body
Do a couple hundred sit ups a day and watch more fat loss from body than legs

Have you never stepped in a gym before?
If one exercise fits all there would be no need for anything other than tread mills since no matter what you did you would lose a uniform amount of fat from all areas of your body

Also for the obvious factor since some people have no common sense; if your body is grossly out of proportion it would be quicker to burn fat from one area than another

Steady state cardio is not a waste of time as it allows you to build your aerobic base. 80% of running should be done at this slow, steady conversational pace while 20% should be done at a higher intensity; anyone who has extensive experience with running knows this
