Ontario has already lowered enrollment. We have plenty of low wage workers. We just need to get them out of the Niagara hotels, with work papers.

As for the rest it's all rhetoric and not constructive at all.
We just need to get them out of the hotels and on a plane back to their homeland.

I agree we are at course correction time, which is what I believe Carney is doing by reducing future immigration targets.
That can be course corrected up or down, later, per results is what I mean.
I think his numbers are still too high. This nation is, like most of the world, about to hit a recession.

Recession is unrelated, but we will find out if it is too high.
I think incremental reductions are better than drastic cuts.
How about a larger cut and then adjust UP? Taking people in is easy. It's dealing with too many that causes problems. Right now we don't have a population shortage, we have a dealing with a previous surge problem.

And yes, a recession means less jobs, and higher social services spending for existing citizens. So it does matter.

No, what should be framed is you guys forcing the carbon tax, only to cheer when Carney slashed it to zero.

You are a liar and hypocrite.
I have never been in favour of the carbon tax for citizens. When have you ever heard me say that? I am in favour of it -- strongly, I might add -- on industries. Having that tax allows us to trade with the EU and UK.

You are fine with individuals driving gas guzzlers with little regard
for Earth's climate future but want to see business like transportation
of essential goods (like groceries) penalized by carbon tax? No wonder
carbon emission growth has been going nowhere but up.

I thinkbthe number should, gor the next two years, be around 250,000, with a heavy concentration of skilled workers in Healthcare, construction, and engineering types for all the building he wants to do.
No, it needs to be reduced to zero.

Allowing hundreds of thousands in will be treated as a loophole for more of the same. It'll also continue to dilute the possibility for integration and create a greater bottleneck on required housing.
