Jackass star Ryan Dunn has died.

The 34-year-old daredevil and an unnamed second person passed away in a car crash in Pennsylvania early Monday morning, April Margera – the mother of his Jackass co-star and close friend Bam Margera – has confirmed to TMZ.

According to reports, Ryan’s Porsche flew over a guardrail on Route 322 at around 3 a.m., hitting a tree before bursting into flames.

Images were later released showing a tow truck arriving to take away the remains of the vehicle.

It is not known who was driving the car.

Just a few hours before the accident, Ryan – who appeared in all of the Jackass movies – posted a picture on his Twitter page of himself drinking with friends.

In addition to being part of the Jackass crew, Dunn – who turned 34 just over a week ago – appeared alongside Bam in Viva La Bam and in his friend's 2003 movie Haggard, as well as MTV show Homewrecker.

In the small world syndrome I'm familiar with where this must have happened.

Unfortunately it seems that two words apply: Speed and Alcohol.

He won't appear in future Jackass films because his last appearance proved that he truly was a Jackass!

it was only a matter of time before one of them got killed. I really thought it would have been Steve O , though.

reminds me of that joke,

what's the last thing the redneck said before arriving at the emergency room?
" Hey, hold my beer , I wanna try something!"

I'm almost willing to put money on it that they were videotaping it as well.

Which one was he?

I rather liked Jackass.

Lived hard, died harder. A worthy life to emulate. Shit, even died by crashing a Porsche and died young.

Not bad by my measuring stick, not bad.

I've always said I'd like to go out in a dazzling ball of flames and this guy did it. Not bad at all...

Although I never see any joy in anybody's death, the human gene pool did not suffer a big loss.

Wow, really? then go out and drink a bottle of Jack Daniels and get behind the wheel , I'm sure you will end up going out in a ball of flames just like that jackass.

To die doing some extreme sport like mountain climbing or skydiving or other activity is one thing , but to die drinking and driving just proves what a real jackass he really was.

At least he didn't take any other innocent parties with him except his passenger.

You, however, I very much doubt want to have third and fourth degree burns over most of your body and manage to survive for awhile in that condition.

Skid marks extending about 150 feet remained on the roadway late Monday morning. Investigators said the force of the wreck separated the engine from the rest of the vehicle. They were only able to identify the color of the car from a door, which had flown off in the collision and was not burned by flames. The Porsche 911 GT3 veered off the road's westbound lanes near the Pottstown Pike exit. The vehicle flipped over a guard rail, careened into a wooded area and burst into pieces before erupting in flames. Investigators believe that speed might have contributed to the wreck

My very limited experience driving a borrowed 911 10 years ago revealed that they stop rather quickly - the brakes are very impressive and the stopping distance was shorter by far than any othe car I've ever driven. To leave 150 ft skid marks and still hit with enough force to rip the car into pieces and demolish a large tree, doors and engine go flying, etc, I would think indicate a quite high rate of speed at the time the brakes were first activated.

No getting anything past those guys!
Yes, they are very astute in making that observation.

Motor Trend tested the 911 GT2 and said the braking distance was 60 mph to 0 (96 km/h to 0) in 98 feet. Granted there are many variables in road condition, temp, etc, but a 250 foot skid followed by a massive crash impact afterwards that ripped the car to pieces would tend to suggest the initial pre-braking speed was very high.
