Cooking their food over a fire.

During the American Revolution, many untrained American soldiers used bayonets only to cook meat over fires rather than using them for close combat. After receiving bayonet combat training from a Prussian general, the American Army was able to win an entire battle without firing a shot. –

When many companies offer a ‘Lifetime Warranty’ with the sale of their products, the word ‘Lifetime’ has nothing to do with the lifetime of the buyer. Instead, the word ‘lifetime’ refers to the average expected lifespan of the product itself, as calculated by the company.

The U.S. Army has a list of approved laundry detergents. These detergents do not contain optical whiting compounds, which would cause laundered uniforms to glow in UV light, and stick out in night-vision imaging.

The whiter than white stuff is called Blankophor
BTW suds have nothing to do with cleaning power. The companies add more or less of the stuff to suit the sales gimmick of the day.

A bit off the trivia topic but agreed. Suds mean nothing and you need MUCH less detergent than what they say. It's all a gimmick to get you to buy more.

I have sensitive skin and most laundry detergents were bothering my skin. I switched to Palmolive dish soap and a bit of vinegar in my homemade laundry soap years ago and no problems since. :) Vinegar is also a natural fabric softener.
