I noticed that the price of gas has dipped down to 84.5 cents - quite a psychological difference from 91.9 cents! It seemed a very quiet retreat; one day gas was expensive the next day it wasn't as expensive.

So what happened in Toronto that allowed prices to drop as much as that? Probably nothing. Makes no sense to me.

So, whats going on you ask? Why, its just the usual insulting Monday marketing program by the 'Big 4'.......tomorrow, the price will be back up to the high eighties for the rest of the week. So suck it up everybody and pay those taxes to Mr Martin like 'Good Canadians'
Of course, his ships are all registered in the Bahamas so that HE doesn't have to pay taxes, but thats another story.....

I believe I'm correct that provincial and federal gas taxes are fixed amounts, except for the 8% GST. So except for the GST, your taxes paid per litre have stayed the same in pennies, and declined as a percentage of the total paid.

As I have said before, the big gas co.s are fucking with us. It is all a psychological strategy. They know that consumers will be mad as hell with a big price increase. So they go over the top and then shortly thereafter bring it back down. Now we think that 85 cents is a bargain. My bet is that prices will toggle around the 89.9 cent mark for a while. Except if there is a big blow up in the ME.

Well its hard to believe the prices were around the 60 cent mark a year ago and now look where they are! City Tv is one of the stations that is looking out for some of the cheap prices in the city. Some of those places are in dangerous neighborhoods tho lol

Weird, I paid 1.89 a gallon yeasterday, down from over $2 last week.

it depends on the backroom politics going on....with the liberals foundering, there may be some collusion to tone down the price increases for the month of June......especially if the barrel price comes down a bit and the Saudis increase supply.
