For all there will probably be a draw and a few selected people will partake maybe at a very expensive fee. Hopefully the money will go into conservation or a study why there is so many dumb people who value animals over humans.....
It is so easy to stir up dumb people
Bang on.
If the numbers are right, the population of wolves has almost doubled in 10 years. That's not good for any population, especially one under protection as it originates from such a small gene pool and runs the risk of exposing the whole population to increased diseases and inherited problems. Chances are other wolves will be brought into the country from other northern countries in Europe to add to the gene pool. A 10% cull is not out of line and the chances are the weaker, sicker, older and dumber ( as odd as that sound) will be the large majority of those killed.
Just for the record, I don't hunt for sport or trophies, but I see the value if done responsibly .
What gets me is that Parliament decided on the number and unless the Swedish parliamentarian is unusually smarter than your average one, their ability to make that kind of decision properly is in question.
The hunting season has an end, as it must be before breading begins and there's some concern that the quota won't be met. Wolves are incredibly smart and it may take 10,000 hunters to reach the quota.
