Well, 10,000 posts has come and gone, and I missed it. Oh well. Regardless I feel I should make a post about my last 5 years and 7 or so months since I have been here.
A lot has changed in five years on this board. Many of the common people have packed up and moved on, have been banned, or have just blurred into obscurity. In a lot of ways, TERB is much better than it was years ago, in many ways worse. I guess the same could be said about me though.
Now, there are far more reviews than there have ever been, and we as hobbyists should feel blessed that such a place exists. I feel confident in saying that TERB has saved me literally thousands of dollars over the years, and that the quality of my appointments has raised substantially. In the beginning there were few women who were reviewed, and one still literally took their chances when booking an appointment, now with most women from most agencies having at least a handful of reviews available, many focus on the 'hidden gems'. That in itself is something I never would have imagined five years ago.
Some people feel that there was more bickering and arguing in the past. Perhaps that is true, not that there isn't a fair share of it now. The difference being is there seems to be a trend over that past couple of years where peoples opinions are no longer treated with respect if they differ from the norm. One poster comes to mind in particular, Chubbs. For those of you who remember, and for those of you who don't, Chubbs had a particular thing for larger BBW women. In fact, he absolutely loved them. His reviews were always classy, and he was the definitive source of information for anyone who wished to see a BBW, yet there were many who constantly belittled and insulted him for his particular taste in women, not to mention the women who he reviewed. I ask, what made his reviews any less important that the person who reviews the woman who is the 'flavor of the month'? Many other posters have left for similar reasons, whether it is about the women they choose to see, their political views, or countless other things. Many smart and intelligent women have left too for similar reasons. I for one do not think this is a boys club, and that TERB would be far worse off without the valuable input from the ladies here.
In many ways however this is the modern day equivalent of a 'Gentleman's Club'. It is a place where we can go, talk guy talk without fear of offending anyone, look at pictures of beautiful naked women, and tell our dirty jokes. In a society obsessed with political correctness, and the constant fear of sexual harassment, TERB has provided a wonderful outlet where freedom of speech (for the most part) is still allowed and encouraged. This is something we should all be very thankful for. If I had to keep all my shit bottled up inside me, and was not able to share it with anyone, I have no doubt I would be in an asylum by now.
All in all I feel this board is moderated well, but it is not the job of the moderators to police. That is the responsibility we have as mature adults, to treat each other with respect, the way we would if we were not hiding somewhere in cyberspace. What is it that makes normal sane men become dickheads when they can hide behind a computer screen and have a public audience. I have always believed that one should not say anything behind ones back that they would not say to a persons face, that is the sign of a coward. Now before people start jumping all over me that my skin is too thin, remember that I have been here for almost six years, and I have not left yet.
My intention here is not to preach, ministers are far better at that than I am, and I really don't want to help the recession along by putting one of them out of work. I have been in many debates here, some I have won, some I have lost, some we have agreed to disagree, but in every circumstance I have learned something. I wish people would just keep an open mind and respect others opinions, without the name calling and venomous insults.
I have made many virtual friends here, and met some in person too. It is you people who keep me here, and who keep the board alive and fresh. My sincere thanks goes out to all of you. If you think you might be one of those people, chances are that you are.
But enough of my drivel. I am pledging to myself that in my next 10,000 posts I will actually type something that has meaning, that is intellectual, and that might make one think, if even for a brief moment. Where I will get that type of motivation, god only knows, but here is hoping.
And where the hell is Goober's mom. I deserve my 10K blowjob dammit.
