you shamefully belittle the sacrifice so many made to preserve the freedoms that you benefit from
I'm not "shamefully belittling" anybody ( except maybe you). I'm just quoting what many veterans have admitted. I respect and admire their efforts. Freedoms? Trump is taking those away now.

Soldiers from the war years seldom declared to their countrymen: 'I joined the army
to defend my nation...I am ready to give my life to safeguard your freedom....'
as the reason they joined the army. A fireman who had given his life would
more likely have said he liked the excitement of fighting fire than he was
ready to put his life at risk to do his job. As a research scientist whose job
is to tackle various unsolved fundamental problems in molecular
physics I don't tell people around me advancement of civilization
is the objective of my career. I simply told people I like what I am doing.

It is one thing for people to not brag about the importance
of the role of their professions in the society. It however speaks
to the lack of character of those who belittle the role they play.
I have had the fortune of finding myself in the good hands of
dedicated doctors and teachers for instance. And I would not
say they did what they did to care for me because they were well paid.

Billionaire warlords are done with democracy, Elon Musk just got a trillion dollar raise for failing upwards. Of course the old veteran feels betrayed. Fascism is fashionable again, the world has learned nothing.

Remembrance Day should be a National Holiday.

you most definitely are "shamefully belittling" those that sacrificed

Most of those guys went to war for the excitement and experience, not for freedom. It was more fun than bailing hay.
I'm just quoting what many veterans have admitted.
no you said most

It was more fun than bailing hay.
war is not fun
getting shot is not fun
seeing you buddies get shot is not fun
killing another human being is not fun even if you are following orders

I respect and admire their efforts.
if you truly did you would not have "shamefully belittled" those that sacrificed

Freedoms? Trump is taking those away now.

this thread has nothing to do with Trump

liberal socialist technocrats have perverted democracy.
jusin trudeau decisions were always determined by political reasons rather than what was in the best interest of Canadians
liberal party of Canada have borrowed a trillion dollars in your name and they have most defiantly failed downwards. one word sums it up - Trudeau
socialism is fashionable again, the world has learned nothing.

it is for public sector employees as
the federal government pays $91,000 of interest per minute, 24 hours a day; thirty-seven cents of every federal tax dollar collected from Canadians go not for services and programs, but for paying interest; of total federal expenditures of $161.5 billion, $47.8 billion or 30% was for interest.

you would eliminate the freedom to become a billionaire

Too bad David Byron was a lush, what a voice, what a waste!

I read it three times and was still left wondering what you are blithering about

here, this might help you

All right, like Bugs Bunny said to Elmer Fudd, you asked for it. Your blathering on about the horrors of democratic socialism becomes a broken record. It gets tedious. Do you prefer National Socialism over Liberal Socialism?

Do you prefer National Socialism over Liberal Socialism?

Johnny you sound confused, are there no work houses are there no prisons.

I love Elmer Fudd, he owns a mansion and a yacht. I hate fascists.

And you thought this looked bad, imagine what would have happened to Hitler if the Russians captured him alive.

Its brutal the way the state has laws and police and infringes on your personal freedoms.
Surely you need some manly, failed state, where you can exist without your freedom controlled.

What's that line about libertarians?
Libertarians are "house cats" who are "convinced of their fierce independence while utterly dependent on a system they don’t appreciate or understand".
