I just heard another 100 year old man say what I said. It is not belittling to report what many have said. If you were bailing hay in Saskatchewan in 1939 and heard that you and all your friends could be sent to Europe , you might welcome the adventure, dangerous as it was.
More Canadians like you should feel good to honor the fallen by repeating what you
thought vets have admitted next time we commemorate remembrance week.

Some young kids must have learned the details of how troops surviving in a battle
from playing games and google. I hope no other adults of your generation would
characterize the experience of charging against machine gunfire on the Normandy
beach as in 'it was more fun than bailing hay' to the kids in the remembrance week;
for that would cheapen the price paid by the fallen to secure our freedom. Our kids
must learn to teach their own kids of the sacrifice made by our forerunners so
