Toronto
Raptors-Pistons first round matchup still in play. Detroit should win out their last 2 games. I think Brooklyn will finish 6th, Detroit 7th and Orlando 8th.
Brooklyn : 1) nets lose, magic win, (det n/a)
2) det wins out, nets and magic lose
Detroit. : 1) det wins out, nets win, magic lose
Orlando : 1) det wins out, nets win, magic win
2) det lose at least one, nets lose, magic lose
3) det lose at least one, nets win (orl n/a)

.... Brooklyn gives us best chance of decent game slot, other two will give us Sat or Sun noon game I'm sure...!

Lets go Raps..

seems like a long shot at first thought, but JV is out for the year now, so Detroit beating them and New York is pretty fathomable, yet never guaranteed. Orlando would have to lose to Charlotte. As we've seen they've been pretty tough lately.

Otherwise overall seating still up in the air.

JV has had injuries that upset our playoff runs in the past. Hopefully Gasol who arguably isn't as mobile as JV can stay healthy along with everyone else to push the run as far as possible.

A little off topic, and a bit outdated, but how cool is this Patrick Patterson promo about Toronto?

For some reason the clip won't post but here's a link:

I just think it's a pretty cool promo.

Makes our city look pretty cool eh? I'm surprised it's gotten so little views.
There seems to be a good number of American players that prefer to play anywhere but Toronto, until they are forced to play here, then they find out Toronto and Canada are all right. I hope I am wrong but I don't believe Leonard is one of them. I feel he wants to play at home, and probably for a winner, money will not be the issue,(it is a given he will be well paid) location will be. Raptors IMO have done everything and more to get him to want to stay here. Toronto media surprisingly(IMO) left him alone. If he leaves it will be because that is what he wants as I think he probably like a lot of things about the city, team, country, and fans.

Amir Johnson was very vocal about how much he loved Toronto. Used to tweet about it all the time, and when he was when he was an FA and Toronto never offered him a contract, he really let it be known how much he was gonna miss it here. JYD was another guy that loved it here which is why they gave him sub job as team ambassador or some shit. (not sure if he still has that job).

On the Leonard issue, I pretty much felt it was a forgone conclusion that he was gone at seasons end, but I did see something on Tim and Sid today that made think there's at least a chance he'll stay. Serge Ibaka does this youtube thing where cooks for team mates and interviews them, and said something to Leonard, and Leonard replied with "once I come back".

Re Amir: When he left for the Celtics he got big dollars for that time period and Raps just were not willing to match it. Byombo was the same when he left, decent rebounder and a great guy but the money he got exceeded his value to the Raps. I don't recall Patrick Patterson being offered a contract here nor do I recall any stories about him wanting to stay. There have been a number of players including Vince Carter that have said nice things about the city and have returned for visits.
Regarding Leonard: he has not said he is moving on and I think a lot will depend on how far they go in the playoffs. I think he wants to win and if he sees a good shot at a ring or gets one, it will influence his decision. He certainly is a talent and a unique individual.

The return of the Mafuzzy Chef. Sid Seixeiro believes that with this episode, Kawhi is as good as signed. I'm not sold.

I'm posting this before watching it.

Don't know about Nurse. I wasn't impressed with how little the raps moved the ball but I'll give him a series to see how he makes adjustments (something Casey never did). On the other hand, Lowry needs to figure some stuff out. Traditional thought is shooters shoot their way our of slumps but Kyle isn't really a shooter so he should have gotten more aggressive cutting to the basket like he did in some of their sets in the second half.

The positive is Orlando shot the lights out which they are unlikely to repeat. I think that attitude-wise, many of the raps may have been to the conference finals and hopefully this will wake them up and result in more effort on defense.

Nick Nurse and Kyle Lowry have to go. They blew the game for us.
I guess after Golden State lost, Kerr and Durant should go too. :)

Lowry might have a harder time driving to the basket against this Orlando Team that is long and athletic. FVV tried it and got swatted away twice. He should still get into the paint so the defense collapses, opening up the outside shots. Every loss is hard, and sentiment changes in a hurry after a win.

Last night's kick ass game is what I believe the Raps are capable of for the entire series, and if they continue to play like that it should be short. The big word is if!

they seemed to come out with much more intensity on defense; each and every one of them. The playoffs are a different level of play. It might be on Nurse, that they didn't come out with the same intensityin game 1 as they did in game 2. The shooting was off game one, but that sometimes comes with an intensity of focus, and killer instinct.
Its funny how the crowd reacted to Lowry's first free throw points and his first 3 pointer. I was the same on my couch at home.
