Outside of Ibaka the bench is a mess.. Pardon the pun its (L)insanity to keep sending fvv and powell out there looking for a different outcome / result. Philly takes advantage of this.. Imho thats a Dwayne casey move.

I understand what your saying, but Jeremy Lin has done nothing to show he's worthy of play offs minutes. You can't play him. You just have to hope the bench guys get out of their slump. There's no coach that would be playing Lin in this situation. It's no different then if a guy like Lowery was struggling. You wouldn't even think about not having him start, and his court time would be barley effected. Still be on the court in the high pressure situations...yada yada. It's not going to happen so no point in even suggesting it's a move Nick Nurse should think about.

Yes that Dwayne Casey who is out first round of the playoffs in 4 games.. Who cant see the potential in Pascal Siakam.
And Casey got swept in his last 4 playoff games of 2018 as well. He is running 8 straight right losses right now. "Losingest" coach in NBA playoff history.

A lot of big fans in this thread...
I like thinking that they might just make shots at home and push this series a bit. Kawhi makes winning or coming back believable instead of the feeling of "oh SH!t" when DD was here.

If they can keep most games within 10 in the fourth quarter I believe Kawhi can take us home on his own.

_____

How do you guys feel about turning the lights down during the game? I like it. The Knicks and lakers do it and it creates a different atmosphere . Maybe not as fan / kid friendly but it does create a stage for the players...

There's no way the bench will and Danny Green will continue to play this poorly. At some point shots will start to go in so that should be big trouble for the 6xers.

The same Casey who was unable to make playoff adjustments. He did a good job of using the deep bench in the regular season though.

And I'm not sure if Pascal was ready for prime time last year.

Awesome team effort against the 76ers last night, Kawhi can't always be Godzilla - King of the Monsters. And they're doing it without OG, when is he coming back?

I love Jamal Murray, every since he made an impact at the Commonwealth Games as a teenager. His development into a superstar is now reality. Watch him go Larry Bird.

whoever makes it out of this series gets swept in 4 against Milwaukee.....the way they are both playing. wasn't impressed with Philadelphia last night either. Going into the 4th I thought we still had a chance. They always give you a chance to get back into it.

Every game I regret seeing Valunciunas gone. He would have played 30 minutes and given us 20 points, 10 boards and interior defense. Along with Pascal and Kawhi, we'd have a chance against Milwaukee and the Western champs. Lowry would be coasting with his 11 assists/game and probably up his points total.

there I said it.

Apparently the addition of Gasol makes us the best the 3 point shooting team in the league? Where is that? The playoffs are all about defense and grinding out points in the paint; unless your team has extremely talented "splahers"

Not sure what your going on about here. No chance the Bucks sweep either of these teams. Yes, the Raps have had some bad games, but they've had some extremely dominant ones. Gasol has played amazing defense, especially against Embiid who's probably the best big man in the NBA.

Typical Toronto sports fan. One of the best teams in the NBA, steam rolled over the Magic who was one of the best teams in the second half, and in a 3-3 tie with a very talented 76ers team, but yet your banking on them getting swept if they beat the 76ers on sunday. Un-fucking real. Let me guess, you probably think Vlad Jr. Is a flop right? God knows two weeks is a sufficient time to see if he's the real deal.

Leafs win one game, lets plan the parade route, they lose one, tear the whole thing up and start from scratch. Toronto sports fans kill me.

It will be a big factor for sure, but I'm not sure Ujiri is the type of guy that will stand for mediocrity for that long.

I find it annoying, and also tempting fate, that the Toronto Media compares the current Raptors to the 2001 edition. Yes, there was an expectation that the 2001 team would get better but we all know what happened.

How times have changed, does anyone know who the current CEO of MLSE is? Last decade we had to put up with Richard Peddie's imperial arrogance, he behaved like he had a multitude of Championship rings - he was The All Highest. The current CEO is Michael Friisdhal, he's still responsible for looking after MLSE's financial interests...and is smart enough not to interfere with the sports clubs.

Ujiri might not be the type of guy to let this happen, but the NBA is a player’s run league and the players only care about “their brand” and Toronto/Canada doesn’t compute in their mentally deficient heads regarding 35-37 milllion Canadians, they only care about south of the border big markets or being on super teams who cheat the cap and the integrity of the bush league.
