Killing this restaurant owner is egregious...They should prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Looks like an outstanding job was done by law enforcement on both sides of the pond to apprehend these individuals.

Well, my OP was mostly in jest but what it was meant to point out was that the usual suspects on here would post any crime immediately if the accused had a high level of melanin in their skin. Glad I could clear that up for you.
Can you clear up something else? Do the melanated commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime, relative to the melanin-challenged?

Deliberately evading the question. I did not ask about the majority of crime. I asked about proportions.
Your stats say that the numbers are about the same for racialized and non racialized populations in Canada.
The only outlier is within the black community, but there we need to also talk about systemic racism and its effects.

Look at the stat can data. Rates per 100k are higher for Latin Americans, south Asians and west Asians. They are even higher for blacks.

I got your question but I intentionally did leave it out because while per capita numbers are useful in tracking trends, they have 2 major issues:
- Small population distortion (In small populations, a few crimes can make the per capita rate look artificially high)
- Lack context (social, economic, or policing factors that explain why crime occurs)
It is therefore often leveraged to push narratives.
That said, even by those StatCan numbers, it looks like the majority of racialized populations, except blacks, fall below the crime rates by Caucasians. (South Asians - 1.24, Latin American - 1.69, West Asians - 1.03, Blacks - 4.85, All racialized groups - 1.91, Caucasians - 1.98).
